TY Alin for your quick reply and help. I am not a code writer. I am an engineer and attorney, and I created the website for free public education of microbiome and its impact to health. So I use plugins and the theme to achieve these needs. It looks like obtaining the Maps API Key involves more expertise than I have, and perhaps funding. I was surprised to see it no longer worked for US, but it worked for a global entry. I suppose I’ll make do without the map details but am glad to still have the US cities listed. Thank you for your insights!

In reply to: [EasyRecipe] aggregateRating errors identified on Google Search ConsoleThank you Jayce53. Your quick reply is much appreciated. Best to you, Patty
I use power-point to extend the images to where I want. I then take a snip-it and use that in twentyfourteen media. I realize that is probably not the best techie way of redoing image sizing, but my images are from power-points I give so it works for me. I’d love to learn how others fix image sizing! Best, Patty

In reply to: [WP Last Modified] Works on WP 4.3.1 but the meta tag may be obsoleteHi. I read the reply to your question on StackOverflow. I was wondering if the reply meant that the plugin should not be used. I need to use a plugin that adds the Updated Dates to posts since Google indicates that I have these errors in Unstructured Data. This plugin is the only one I found. It is not tested for the current WordPress 4.4 however. Apparently the default 2014Theme I use, with only plugins, no ChildTheme, does not provide the updates dates Google wants to see. Do you have any insights?

In reply to: Missing Widgets and Side Menu from HomepageUpdate: I learned that the excerpt plugin I am using is the problem. Deactivating it remedied the problem though now I need an excerpt plugin that works!

In reply to: Missing Widgets and Side Menu from HomepageHi. I just had the sidebar and posts stop displaying on my home page as well. Did you find a solution to this for the 2014 theme? I am not a static home page (I checked my Appearance>Customize) and the Settings>Reading is not static as well. All was working fine until I published today’s post which included a Pinterest image linked to my Pinterest page.
The plug in is not tested against the 4.0 version of the 2014Theme so I did not try that.
Just wondering what you found out about this…

Thanks so much again Rushang! I updated 2014 theme this morning (leaving plugins active) with no problems. I truly appreciate your insights!
Have a great day! Patty
Thanks Rushang. One more question… I watched a youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEPjdEGIZxY on updating a WP theme and prior to doing so, they deactivated all the plugins “just as a precaution.” After the theme was updated, they reactivated all the plugins. Is such necessary or is that just overly cautious?
I sincerely appreciate your insight,
Patty
