I will answer this myself, I hadn’t removed the webpushr code from the footer of my site!

Hi, as it’s a hosted package I don’t think I have the choice of clearing the server-based cache. However, as it has the same problem on a brand new image (as well as existing) I don’t think it’s this.
I created a 30s youtube vid of the problem:

You can see initially I’m in the Media view and the thumbnail isn’t how you’d like it. I’m trying a plugin (suggested above) to crop, however it’s the same result whatever method I try. You can see when I initially crop/save it you can see in the media view (@23 seconds) the new (looking better) cropped thumbnail.
However, when you refresh the media view (@29 seconds) it goes back to the original crop. Arrgghh! ??

Thanks Steve, that plugin in principle does exactly what I would want. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work either.

For example, this is the flow using the plugin:

    1) Deleted all relevant media flows and remove from associated product page
    2) Re-uploaded pic and add to product page
    3) Thumbnail looks rubbish so use the plugin to add the hotspots of the key bits I want to keep.
    4) ‘Finish adding hotspots’ – it seems save them.
    5) Refresh but thumbnails haven’t changed.

When I replace steps 3/4 with the manual cropping method, the same happens – nothing changes. I use an ignotito window so I know the old one isn’t cached. The correct thumbnail is shown in the media view after I changed it, just nowhere else.

Anyone seen this behavior? Honestly, the things that should take a few seconds but actually take days to sort are so frustrating ??

    cheers,

    Matt

I’m having the same problem, anyone have an idea about this?
