  • Okay just figured it out. Having a real DUH moment! But I’ll share in case it helps someone else.

I couldn’t figure out the category ID number. Looking at the admin panel for Bookmark Categories, I saw the number 6, so was using that number. That was the number of bookmarks under that category though not the cat id.Finally figured that out, but couldn’t see anywhere that told me what the category ID number was. Finally noticed if I clicked it the category ID displayed in the URL.

Don’t make the same mistake as I was….I couldn’t figure out the category ID number. Looking at the admin panel for Bookmark Categories, I saw the number 6, so was using that number. Duh – that was the number of bookmarks under that category. Finally figured that out, but couldn’t see anywhere that told me what the category ID number was. Finally noticed if I clicked it the category ID displayed in the URL.

Voila – exclude_category now works! So I will admit having a dumb moment in hopes it helps everyone else struggling with this!

I’m using 2.8.3 and it doesn’t work there either. And there doesn’t seem to be any explanations as to why it doesn’t work. What a shame. Seems like an easy thing for someone in the know to fix too.

Okay this just got a little weirder. I can edit the list of provinces when the list is set for Canada but still can’t edit it if it’s set for the US. I disabled the other plugins one by one and no change. I can edit the Canada list, not the US one.

In any event I just went into Mysql and made the changes manually there. Don’t have time to try and figure this problem out.

I did use capitals for the abbreviated form. That’s not the issue.

Yes, that is the page: wp-admin/admin.php?page=eshop_shipping.php&action=states

I am trying to add in provinces to the US States, but I can’t. Well, I can type the information in but when I click “Update Shipping Zones” it doesn’t save the information.

What I need to do is change the zone numbers plus add the provinces. I also need to change the zones on the countries page as my shipping policy only uses 3 zones (Canada, US, and all other countries).

I am absolutely stumped. I deleted the plugin and all the pages twice, and still the same problem. As it is I’ll have to manually adjust every order to get the right shipping costs.

Okay – I deleted the plugin and reinstalled. Still can’t edit the shipping zones. I can make changes but nothing happens when you go to save.

I’m using WP2.7 and eShop v.3 and can’t edit the shipping zones (the list of provinces/states or the shipping code). I had the previous version and it was working fine, but had to start from scratch (don’t ask – a very stupid mistake on my part). I’ll try to reupload this version and see if that takes care of the problem.

Update: When I use an image from my NextGen gallery the image displays fine on the Product page, however there are no thumbnails for the Department page. Same thing happens for images from Flickr.

On the new page when you fill out the product information – at the bottom of the page is a link for “choose listing image”. It says ‘current image’ > no image available. Under Choose Image there are no options and it again says “No Images found”.

Is it possible to specify your own thumbnails or is there anything else I can do besides upload each image to the default upload location? Many of my product images are already uploaded to my server for the gallery pages so I don’t want to have multiple uploads of the same image.

    I used …/news/images

Another potential problem is that I’ll be using my Flickr account for some of the product images; and also taking some from my NextGen gallery pages. I’m going to try both of these options today and see what happens to the eShop thumbnails.

I removed the pingomatic completely because my blog is meant for private useage. I do have Registered-Only plug-in installed, but otherwise have not modified any files. It is still really slow going to the write post/page, publishing posts, etc.

    Any other suggestions?

Thank you so much. I’m not sure what the problem is for this person. She actually can’t view any site I’ve designed which is weird because the others validate for xhtml and css. I don’t have enough knowledge of other operating systems and compatibility issues to be able to figure that one out.

I have done designs for 3 wordpress sites and would love to hear any comments. The content isn’t conventional on any of them, so don’t judge that – just the design/layout.

Something is wrong here. I’ve followed these instructions until I get to the create new page part there is no drop down menu where I can choose the Links template.

What am I missing? Can anyone provide a little more guidance for me.

I posted the links.php in the template folder. Is this correct? My install does say WordPress 1.5. So I’m at a loss as to what to do now.
