I checked this plugin with latest WordPress 4.3.1 and it works fine there.
you will find the circle icon on the visual tab of the editor ( not in the text tab ).
Please let me know on which WordPress version you are facing problems.

Please calculate the total hours to the end time and just put it there.
Like if you want to run the clock for 1 day ( 24 hours ), you need to write only “24” in the end time field. You should see a tooltip when hovering on the end time field.
