Interesting. Sounds like it could be configuration/version issues in your Apache setup. I’ll look at tweaking in future versions.
Hi Cos,
I’m currently looking to see why it isn’t working for some folks. Yes, “Write to … Core Files” must be selected however in some cases it seems that Apache isn’t processing the rules at all.
Esmi is right lunchgirl. Please try increasing memory. I’m afraid if that is not possible you will not be able to use that feature with your current host.
Under Intrusion Detection you can find a text box in which you can input files and directories to ignore.
Are you using any opcode caching? If you’ve deleted the plugin folder that file, and the links to it shouldn’t exist however it appears your server might be caching the call.
Well, in about 50 sites I maintain and use that feature I haven’t seen an issue so I can’t say it’s unique but it is interesting.
Can one of you please email me at info [at] bit51 [dot] com so that I may get some more information to help troubleshoot?
Are you using anything else for registration or is the any unusual requirement when registering? Also, have you looked at Firebug or any other utilities to see what’s if there are any errors being thrown?
My hunch is your registration setup is probably incompatible with the “Filter suspicious query strings” setting under “System Tweaks.” Please try turning that option off and let me know if it solves the issue.
Same question for you then TeeKaaaay85, is there a Better WP Security section in the .htaccess section in the root of your site?
I’m not familiar with easyphp. It sounds like it could possibly be a memory issue however. Can you take a look at your php logs for the specific error message?
Please take a look at https://bit51.com/what-is-changed-by-better-wp-security/ for help.
Thanks. I’ll take a look.
The issue was fixed in 3.2.6
Interesting. A general install doesn’t affect anything with the plugins. I have however seen this issue on sites due to various issues with the WordPress installation itself. Perhaps https://mysillypointofview.richardferaro.com/2010/05/27/fix-the-plugin-does-not-have-a-valid-header-error/ can help you.
I have it working on a few dozens sites without issue. The issue from 3 months ago was something completely different TeeKaay85. What is happening with your site?
What do you mean by “it blocks?” Are you getting locked out yourself? This is possible if you have a lot of broken links on your site.
