Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Limit to number of installed themes?@johnpope For me, I like seeing the way different themes display, comparing the methods used for different features, and ‘looking under the hood’ to see how the heck they did that. For example, I may be impressed by the smooth horizontal columns in one theme, the easy viewer-selected stylesheet shifts in another, and the unique layout in yet another.
That’s the type of learner I am. I find elements I appreciate in others work, dissect it, and learn to apply those skills to create my own styles.
Granted, my reasoning may be different from whoever it was who had 1200 themes installed… but I’m seriously not sure what *anyone* would do with 1200 themes. ??
@whooami I agree that some designers/developers have that preference. The same can be said for photographers and other digital artists which would be why participation or submission of themes to such a theme foundry would obviously be optional. I’m not suggesting that random people collect every theme they find online and submit others work for everyone to use; I’m wondering if a community similar to Flickr or DeviantArt exists for WP add-on creators.
The collection you referenced is certainly in the general scope of what I’m describing, but my concept is more communal, incorporating some of the elements of social networking as seen in the aforementioned websites.

In reply to: A different kind of photo blog (kinda’ wierd?)@gingershutterbug Were each of those photos taken using your iPhone? For my own curiosity, do you have the 1st gen or the 2nd gen iPhone? (Yes, I’m aware that it shouldn’t matter.)

In reply to: Limit to number of installed themes? Thanks for the info. I’ll keep hunting for whatever else could be preventing them from displaying in the dashboard.
It helps a lot just to know that it’s not a limitation of the platform, if that makes sense. (:

Doesn’t seem to matter whether I try to login as admin or my username, and even the initial login looks similar:

In reply to: Upgrade to 2.6 – Admin Login ProblemThis is a screencap of what I’m getting. I just want to make sure this is the same problem others are experiencing or if I’m on the wrong track:

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

In reply to: NEW 2.6 install – admin login problemSo if one is experiencing this problem but does not have a control panel for domain management, is there a way to perform the same steps manually?

In reply to: 2.6.1 Login Loopingmrmist:
Perhaps I’m jumping onto the coattails of a problem other than what mine is. Mine persists regardless of which browser, system, etc. one uses to access the blog.
For example, I could use a pristine system that has never been online before and would still have the same issue when I access the page.
In fact, I have tried this from 2 Mac systems, 2 Windows systems, my iPhone, and my wii (yeah, I was just curious)… all with the same result.
Any suggestions? Is my problem something other than what the others have described?

In reply to: 2.6.1 Login LoopingI’ve been having this problem too!
It’s so bad that I asked my web host to just purge it so I can start fresh.
I noticed that it occurs before I even apply a template, and if I remember correctly, it’s after adjusting some simple settings on the same page as the time zone.
No idea how to fix this other than the ‘scorched earth’ method.
