Actually, I went through and tried your suggestion Otto and while it does fix the captioning problem, and thank you so much for that, it still prevents me from having two images on the same line, which is the whole point of this.

This is so frustrating. I may just go back to doing it straight HTML, it all worked that way, I was just hoping that WordPress would be easier and more efficient.

Actually, I’ve tried that, it doesn’t give you multiple-line captioning, as you can see in my demo page above. I stuck captioning into the last couple images and… it runs all three lines together. WP hacks out any attempt to force line breaks within the caption.

Captioning was my first attempt, I’m just not having any luck getting well-formated, multi-line captions to work.

Actually, what I really want to get, with good multi-line captioning, is something like this.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t work either. In fact, having the CSS in place stops me from centering anything whatsoever, it forces everything to the left side of the screen. I put together a little demonstration of what I want and what your coding does, hope it helps.

That works great for a single image on a line, but once you get more than one image, the captioning doesn’t line up under the images. That’s what I tried before… no go. ??

When you try to do that, you get two pictures centered side-by-side, then one caption centered between the pictures below, then the next caption centered beneath that.
