I have the exact same problem with the sociable dashboard settings page.

Here are some more details:

– icons will flash then disappear when the settings page first begins to load.

– if you have multiple tabs open in browser, sometimes if you navigate to another open tab and then back to the dashboard tab magically your icons are now there. strange.

– seems that only IE is affected. Works fine in Firefox.

Other Notes:
I believe all permissions are set accordingly across the site. Don’t believe that to be the issue.

I just noticed that there is a link in a comment, at the page I referenced above, at the bottom of the page that links to the plugin that DID NOT work for me. Don’t use that one if you are having issues with ie7. It is by ‘telegraphics’.

Use the link referenced by the ARTICLE on the page I pointed to.

I found my problem.

For me the problemn was a common .ico plugin for photoshop (didn’t work properly in 8, cs or cs2). It was the plugin that was messing up my icon.

I found a different plugin (here), and it made all the difference.

Works great now.
Hope this helps someone else.
