In reply to: My Multisport website. Please critique and open for suggestionsI can understand if they are advertisers/advisers. They would need largest possible space. I especially liked your drop down menus. Very sleek. Once we are in the inside pages they look very nice with a two column and maximum content. On the first visit to your homepage I felt it was quite crowded. But these are my views. Your audience might be loving the layout.

In reply to: widget displayI don’t understand why your sidebar is not showing on other pages. Try updating your theme now or if you can, install twenty ten. If the problem persists then its probably php code related. I am a newbie as you are when it comes to coding.

In reply to: widget displayTry this.. Go to dashboard -> pages -> edit. On the right hand side or below the posting area you will find page attributes. Select default template there and save it.

In reply to: My Multisport website. Please critique and open for suggestionsSimplify your site please. It is cluttered with lots of stuff and images and the visitor may be left in confusion as to where to click. Although a lot of good content you have there I feel that it is being shadowed by large images. Maybe you can scale down the size of the images a bit during posting. Also I would suggest that you keep the image dimensions similar. Sometimes varying image sizes gives a feel that your site has gone out of sync.

In reply to: Posts in PagesInstall a plugin called link within. This will bring up the posts with their thumbnails at the bottom of the post. It searches with keywords and the categories you have put that post into and brings out related content.

In reply to: Updated plugin – Site crashYou are welcome. Just as a precautionary measure…before you update any plugin deactivate it and then proceed. Some files are in use when you are updating and therefore may cause problem updating.

In reply to: Placing search bar on top right corner?@tigtog, Yes that seems to be a prudent way to save all the customizations we have made in our style.css. By the way, your display name links to your blog whereas mine doesn’t although I have entered it in my profile. I found members older than 1 year have this facility. Is it due to forum rules or some other option in the forum.

In reply to: Updated plugin – Site crashI don’t know if this can help. But go to the plugin site and manually download the zip file of the plugin you wished to update. Place it in the plugins directory by going to the cPanel file manager in your hosting account.
Probably when you were updating the plugin something stopped the process in between and crashed your site.

In reply to: multiple wordpress installation on a single domainWhy not create a sub-domain and install wordress there instead. If you are doing it on the same domain it may likely create some problems although that statement is not verified.
But say, the main domain is https://www.wordpress1234.com. Create a sub-domain like say https://www.client1.wordpress1234.com and install a wordpress there. You will get a different wp-login for that.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Placing search bar on top right corner?@ tigtog, the link you provided is quite interesting. Putting a search bar on the menu. I will have to tweak a little and see if it can be placed on top after using esmi’s suggestions.

In reply to: Placing search bar on top right corner?Yup, copied the twentyten theme’s style.css file.
@esmi, went through the link you provided. It asks me to change the theme before applying the changes. I will schedule this task after some hours.Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Website as wordpressYou have to basically install wordpress through your hosting account’s CPanel. You get blog softwares listed there from which you have to choose wordpress. Then when it asks you where to place it put your domain name. You can also place it on another path like https://www.yourdomain/blog.
You will be editing CSS files in wordpress through your editor for customisation or you can do it from your file manager of your hosting account.
You can install the website and then in a sub-directory you can install the blog.

In reply to: Can't access my BlogThe 2nd url only takes us to categorized post snippets on your website. Is it not better to keep your home page as the one now…?
Anyway, as far as I understand the situation….In general settings you might have entered the site address url to be the 2nd url in your post and therefore now wordpress it trying to find your files in that location which does not exist.
This might help you. Check it out.
