In reply to: [Blighty Explorer] New files don’t show in Blighty ExplorerHi Jim
It should normally be within 60 seconds (that’s the plugin’s cache setting). However Dropbox sometimes has API and server issues and I’ve occasionally seen it take longer. I’ve also read on Dropbox’s developer forums (about a month ago) that it can take a while for large media / image files to appear while it indexes and extract the media info.
How long have you experienced this?

In reply to: [Blighty Explorer] Basic account sufficient for upload?I’m not able to recreate the error you’re getting (on my server) so this makes tracking it down difficult. In fact it works just fine on my sever which makes it frustrating.
Just curious – have you set a “Root Folder” in the settings? Could you try saving that setting again?

In reply to: [Blighty Explorer] Basic account sufficient for upload?Thank you! I’ve just pushed a minor release (2.1.1) which may or may not fix your original error, but I know it does fix the “Allow users to upload” check-box (oops).
Please try again and let me know.

In reply to: [Blighty Explorer] Basic account sufficient for upload? It should work with any personal Dropbox account, paid or free.
Do you have any more detailed information on the error or a page where I can see the error?
Thanks!

In reply to: [Blighty Explorer] Format Moddatev2.1.0 may be of interest ??

In reply to: [Blighty Explorer] Settings page crashHopefully v2.1.0 (which I’ve just released) will resolve this too.

In reply to: [Blighty Explorer] Settings page crashThanks for your feedback. I’ll look into the root cause of that and issue an update as soon as I can.
In the meantime, can you try adding
&bex_reset=1
to the admin settings url. This should reset the plugin and hopefully you can then connect to Dropbox. Thanks for the extra input. Two other thoughts come to mind: 1 – Are you using a Business Dropbox account? 2 – The file will be displayed by performing a page redirect. You mentioned a redirect plugin – which one?
I’m scratching my head on this one as I can’t recreate the problem. Are you using any shortcode attributes such as
root
orfilepick
?Thanks for the detailed information. I’ll hopefully have an answer for you within the next 24 hours.

In reply to: [Blighty Explorer] New files don’t show in Blighty Explorerv2.0.2 should improve the refresh rate from Dropbox between uploading a new file and it appearing via this plugin. Note there is still a 60-second cache built into this plugin to prevent recurrent API calls.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Blighty Explorer] New files don’t show in Blighty ExplorerI searched Dropbox’s forums and found this response:
When using includeMediaInfo, there can be a delay on results being returned while the media information is prepared.
They will get listed once the information is available, but this can take a variable amount of time, especially if there are many files or a lot of activity in the account.
This plugin does use includeMediaInfo, so it’s to be expected; and the files will show eventually. I’m not happy with that though, so I’ll be working on a fix.
Thanks for your patience.
