In reply to: WordPress 3.2.1 has broken the dashboardblahblahbecky, depending on your hosting interface you may be able to select, for yourself, a couple of PHP settings. With mine they offer the CPanel interface and give me two PHP’s to choose from.
It’s also possible you could email them and ask to be upgraded. It isn’t necessarily an upgrade to your account in terms of what you pay – but just an upgrade setting they can select for the correct PHP. I’ve had mine do that before and it cost nothing and they took care of it.

In reply to: WP dashboard "lost formating" after updates. Looks messed up.Not sure what/why/when/who/how but logging-in just now the dashboard is fine.
It wasn’t fine this morning or most of the day, the computer was on, Firefox and Safari were loaded and reloaded, cleared cache, etc. etc.
No idea what magically started to work? My confidence level would improve if I knew that answer but I’m happy it’s currently holding together.
Thanks for the help – I’ll hope the voodoo keeps holding.

In reply to: WP dashboard "lost formating" after updates. Looks messed up.Unfortunately, no-go.
FTP’ed new installation entirely after FTP’ing just the root files, admin, etc. Neither changed results.
My dashboard is a mess with the lack of CSS and not sure if I’m going to be left to my own devices or if this will have a professional geek that finds a solution. If it’s up to me I may have to either bomb it back to some earlier version and if that’s too difficult – switch to something else as I can’t be without this particular online presence for long.
So, on that note – if anyone has a suggestions I’m a willing guinea pig but of limited technical expertise.

In reply to: WordPress 3.2.1 has broken the dashboardMy dashboard looks exactly the same – as-if it lost the CSS.
I re-uploaded the ADMIN folder with no luck. I did the same with just the CSS, no luck either.
I had this happen after the 3.2 update and a little while ago saw the 3.2.1. I managed to stumble my way through the broken dashboard to update to 3.2.1 but it didn’t do anything – hence FTP’ing the folders.
Zero idea. Yes, tried all the usual suspects in the FAQ… I meet minimum requirements for PHP and MySQL for this new version of WP, cleared cache, etc. Basically it was working immediately after the update but when I came back to my computer the next morning (fresh browser and OS) the dashboard tanked.

In reply to: WP dashboard "lost formating" after updates. Looks messed up.For anyone reading I see another instance of this in another part of the help forum:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wordpress-321-has-broken-the-dashboard
Essentially suggesting the auto-update has a problem and re-installing via FTP or re-uploading via FTP the admin folder should work. It’s only one instance but I’ll give it a whirl in a while and report back.

May I ask… You updated your GoDaddy PHP, is that correct?

In reply to: WP dashboard "lost formating" after updates. Looks messed up.My host is Lunar Pages.
I, too, recall this happening some time ago and it cleared up on its own fairly quickly. I guess I was hoping for the same this time.
Re-installation didn’t work, either. I’m stumped.

In reply to: WP dashboard "lost formating" after updates. Looks messed up.Chip, thanks – I may have to re-install.
Yup, firefox current and safari cleared caches (including machine off for a few hours, too) still had visible problem.
I don’t believe, though, the upgrade was a problem because, as mentioned, for the few hours after upgrading I worked in my dashboard and even drafted some posts and pages. It said update was successful and, indeed, did look normal as I worked.
I’ll give the re-install a shot just on the off-chance.

In reply to: WP dashboard "lost formating" after updates. Looks messed up.Chip, yes. Started there. What info I could determine (as I don’t receive any error messages alerting me to json.php or similar) much does not seem to apply. If it does – without seeing an error message I wouldn’t know how to check.
