In reply to: Cannot resolve Database Connection ErrorFrom what you described I think it’s mostly server downtime (so not really your fault). But it’s bluehost and they seem to be reputable? To be sure send a message to the bluehost team. Happened to me before when my hsot kept switching servers. Really a hastle with lots of downtimes.

In reply to: Problem with PicturesWell just to make sure, re-upload the images and make sure the image icon in the media uploader displays correctly. Now re-publish the pages with the newly-attached images. One you’ve published it go to the page and click CTRL + F5. This makes sure it’s reloading and not just showing the same page that’s been stored by your browser cache.
If that still doesn’t work, try looking at the image files. I’ve had a similar problem like this before and it seems that the blogI’m building would only display .gif images (and not .jpeg). Or maybe it’s the other way around for you. It depends but usually it has something to do with a bad plugin that messes up the code.
Hope that resolves it ??

In reply to: Customizing Color on a Theme Web TemplateGoing to the css stylesheet and manually changing the html color codes would be a catch-all solution. Unless of course the theme is made up of pieced-image gradients.

In reply to: New Satirical Web siteIt’s a good theme. Though I’d say it lacks a bit of “character” right now. Like it seems to be to generic??
You need to work on your blog image and here are a few tips:
-
Get a good logo. Doesn’t need to be complicated. Maybe just a good font and a good icon would do.
The banner below the navbar? I don’t think it serves a purpose. Perhaps you can change that? Turn the whole section (it’s big) as a featured post section? Or improve the banner if you really like it that way. Just a thought.
Maybe increase the post title font a bit. To help catch the reader’s attention.
I really don’t get what the login page on the navbar is for? Are you planning some membership site or something?Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: TUTORIAL: Filtering Yourself from Google AnalyticsHey that was useful! Great tutorial you got right there. I’ve been thinking about it for some time but never really got around to researching for the actual steps.
Thanks!

In reply to: Improvements?I like the positioning of the photo slider as well as the large photo display in itself. It really catches my attention.
I think you need to develop your welcome message more. It’s a bit bland right now (then again I guess this blog is still under construction?).
You can do better with a cleaner, simpler, and probably less grungy-looking font. Probably more modern or elegant as it reflects your photography?
Also the tweet box and the Google Adsense ad. Both use white background colors. It doesn’t blend well to the site. Maybe you can use a lighter grey color.
Good luck ??

In reply to: CodePad ThemeIt’s generally good. Content body’s nice and the whole thing is clean and simple. I’m a bit disturbed by the white box to indicate links though (maybe that’s just me).
Get a good logo. It’s always a good starting point for every blog.
The footer. At first I thought there are texts there that just have pale colors but when I looked closely I realized it’s actually an image of codes. Just a bit confusing. Maybe you can use the footer more by placing actual links ??

In reply to: Errors with different browsersThe two problems you noted isn’t related.
Error 404 basically refers to “Page Not Found”. It means that the link you’re trying to access isn’t available on your site. Re-check your links and make sure nothing’s broken. Or sometimes it’s just simply a server error.
It displays differently since browsers renders sites in a different manner (though most like you should get the Firefox the same and IE should follow because it’s more open to different code structures, even bad code structures actually).
It’s rather a big topic to discuss here but eHow wrote a good tutorial: https://www.ehow.com/how_7166758_make-display-same-ie-firefox.html

In reply to: Only Few VisitorsThere are tons and you can just Google for the answers if you want wide opinions.
But if you want it fast and legit, the (safest) solution is simple. Google Adwords.

In reply to: WordPress theme designed for client – Any Improvements?Well done site actually! I especially like the twitter feed section in the sidebar. Gee that’s some neat designing/coding right there!
I don’t really have any negative criticism (seeing it’s all well made and all). I’m a bit bothered though by the orange box at the bottom of the sidebar. At first I thought, isn’t that one too many many colors for one theme already? Then I realized it was the newsletter subscription box and I’m like, oh okay it’s fine they’re generally orange. BUT, can you try moving that to the topmost part of the sidebar instead? And besides I doubt you’ll get any decent opt-ins if you leave that box to where it is right now. Just an idea…

In reply to: dutch android websiteI like the lay-out in general. The sections all seems to be functional and well done.
You can improve the header area though. First of all with the logo, I think wrong choice of fonts? Go with the more modern, simple bold/sleek fonts since it’s more reflective of the android brand. And you can put it in the left side and use the free space in the right side for something eles (like a search bar, or maybe for a banner).
The post area seems to be a little plain. You can spice it up a bit by changing the font color of the post title to something else during mouse hover. Or something like that.
Good job though!

In reply to: My Parka Review blogI personally like the color scheme (nice blue and red gradients right there) and the logo placement just works. You can still improve the tagline “Coupon for Parka outlet shops” which is just a text right now. Maybe incorporate it into the logo since that statement seems to be important.
I guess the site’s new so it’s kindy wordy right now. Spice up your blog by adding more images (in posts) and banners. Give your readers something to digest visually. Trust me it helps ??

In reply to: Please review my new WP Blog =DHmmn. Ever considered getting a full background? The red background you currently have just stops short in the middle of your latest post. After that it’s all white… perhaps a full red background? Might improve the look because of the contrast. And I like how it looks from the top ??
The logo. It’s a bit plain don’t you think? You can do better with a more striking one ??
Also try increasing your post title’s font. When I see your posts the thing that catches my attention are the images. And I really don’t get it fast with just the images. So maybe if your post title’s font is a bit bigger they would catch my attention instead.
On the sidebar you can try increasing the text font too (too small) and perhaps remove the underline on the links. Just try it out. I bet it would look more ‘clean’.
That’s all I can think of for now. Nice themes in your collection btw.
