    That box is already checked.

This all started because I couldn’t enable blog comments the usual ways, and I tried all of them. Just nothing happening. I must have ticked something wrong somewhere… Plus, I wanted to hide the large title in the blog sidebar, and got confused about which boxes to tick about that too.

I think what I’m going to have to do is scrap the whole site and start again, chalk it all up to experience. At least I learnt a few things!

Thanks so much for all your efforts and help. Really appreciate it.

Do you mean go to ‘Customise’ –> and then paste it in the ‘Custom CSS’ option? I’ve done that and nothing has happened.

Yes, I’ve tried there. I’ve tried everything I can think of on all the settings on the WP dashboard, under pages and posts, and have tried everything on the Themify panel. I’m driving myself mad – nothing works!

Thank you again for your help, BTW.

    Hi again,

I’ve just found a ‘template’ drop-down when I click on ‘quick edit’. It says ‘default template’. However, when I quick on the drop-down arrow there’s no menu. It remains at ‘default template’, and when I click on it makes no difference.

Hello, thanks for the quick response.

I’ve tried to do what you say but cannot see anything about ‘template’.
I’ve had a go at everything I can think of on the Themify custom panel.
I’m at a loss as to what I can do to remove the blog sidebar that’s now on every page of my site.

    Hi Juaneguerra,

The problem still persists on my PC laptop (which is getting old). However, I recently acquired a MacBook Air and all is fine on it, so I am working on my WordPress projects there instead.

Do tell me if you find a solution, I’d be interested to know.

    Kind regards,

    Bluebell.

Hi there, thanks for the reply, Sunny.

I deactivated every plugin and the customizer worked again when I deactivated Easy Google Fonts. I also deleted the EGF plugin and reinstalled it, which made no difference.

I then tried the twentyfifteen theme and the customizer worked again.

I’m keen to stick with Tesseract though, so I’m not sure how to proceed. I keep reading about php/js and have tried to find out about them, but am none the wiser.

Any guidance on the way forward would be greatly appreciated!

    Bluebell.

    Hi again,

OK, so after a process of deep thought and browsing these forums for inspiration, I’ve solved my problem.

It was caused by me copying and pasting text in directly from a Word document. I deleted the relevant rows and their CSS selectors and will do them again. I’ll either type the text in full, or paste it into a notepad.

Feeling a bit foolish now, but hey-ho.

    Bluebell ??
