In reply to: Adding Acceptable file typesI’m intrigued by the ‘Lord of Files’ plugin.

Yes, Drupal did improve in the D7->D8 move and added many improvements.
Maybe I misspoke, the House uses Drupal exclusively for their websites. I work on them every day and they are planning on making the move to D8 with the upcoming congress transition. It is a modified version of Drupal which allows the admin to be on a separate server than the front-end.
To get moving on things quickly, I’m probably going to get a theme with a page builder baked in.

Funny, I was just looking and thought to myself “dang, that’s a lot of plugins” and am now going back and removing some. You would I’d know better. Envato elements doesn’t help.
I didn’t think that I had a lot of plugins, but the pro version of Elementor will make some unnecessary. I’ll pick that and NextGen gallery up tomorrow.
Drupal 7 is good. But I have a feeling that there were a lot of devs that jumped out at D8.
Thanks!

In reply to: New to WordPress. Coming from another CMS…and let’s be honest, WordPress has the backend UI nailed. This is huge, especially when building client sites.
Is there a module similar to module_filter in Drupal?

Thank you to both of you for the info. So, this forum is a good place to ask questions as such?
I’ll check out Advanced Custom Fields/Type UI. Thank you.
Like I said before, each CMS has its function. For some sites I build – Drupal is overkill. But I don’t think I would build a WordPress site for a congressperson (I work for Congress). I could be wrong as I don’t know that much about WordPress, yet.
But I’m looking forward to learning more. WordPress seems great to set up a quick website and get content out.
