In reply to: WP 2.9 Thumbnail Sharing on FacebookI had submitted a ticket to Facebook support about a week ago but haven’t heard anything about it. Wouldn’t be surprised if the coding for their new site redesign played a role in this problem.
Still, it is extremely annoying.

In reply to: WP 2.9 Thumbnail Sharing on FacebookI am running into all sorts of oddities with trying to troubleshoot this issue.
I read somewhere that a person had luck bringing his image into Photoshop and using the ‘Save for Web’ option before embedding his image onto his blog post. So, I tried that and it actually worked.
Here is the odd thing. I usually prep a week’s worth of images for my entries every Sunday. So, I went ahead and did the Save for Web routine for each of the upcoming week’s images. I then prepped the articles and went on my way.
The problem is that when I would go to publish the next day’s article, the thumbnail would, once again, disappear when sharing. So, I tried re-saving the image using the Save for Web in PS and re-applied the newly saved image to the blog post. And sure enough, it worked.
I don’t want to start speculating over what it could be but so far, the ONLY thing that works is saving the image the day that the article is posted and then sharing it. I have no idea what else it could be. All I know is that this is a very bizarre and most annoying issue and I am very surprised that it hasn’t been resolved yet.

In reply to: WP 2.9 Thumbnail Sharing on FacebookI was able to make -some- progress in getting thumbnails to post when sharing. I read someone that a person exported their image out of Lightroom into Photoshop and used the ‘Save for Web’ option. I did the same, keeping only the color profile and copyright info.
When adding that image to my blog post and sharing on Facebook, the thumbnail image displays as it always had.
This leads me to believe that it has something to do with the jpeg file handling of Lightroom (perhaps) as nothing else changes in my process.
So, for the time being, it looks like I have to take a few extra steps to get this to work until a more streamlined solution appears.
Hope this helps.

In reply to: WP 2.9 Thumbnail Sharing on FacebookHas there been any update with this issue? It’s been ongoing for me for several weeks now. I am not sure what I can do but I really do need to be able to post thumbnail previews. I tried the suggestion of adding that bit of code to my header but didn’t have any luck.
My blog address is https://brianmatiash.com/blog.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Brian

In reply to: Thumbnails on facebook not showingActually, the exact same thing is happening to me. I just went live with a new PhotoBlog Template (ProPhoto 3) and when I go to Facebook to link to a new post that contains an image, the thumbnail preview does appear but once I click ‘Submit’, the thumbnail disappears.
My Blog URL is https://brianmatiash.com/blog
You can try posted a link to this URL for a test: https://brianmatiash.com/blog/2010/01/31/1s24h-january-31st-2010/
The odd thing is that if I link to another PhotoBlog that also uses the ProPhoto template, the thumbnail appears just fine when I submit it.
I am pretty sure that I have tried everything but any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks,
Brian

In reply to: Linking directly to an image on blog and how it is displayedYeah, I am going to have to figure out how to find a resolution via NextGen because all of my images have been applied using that plugin. Does anyone else have any knowledge of NextGen and can apply it to my original post?
Thanks!

In reply to: My First Blog – Comments/Criticism are greatly appreciatedThanks for the idea. I will definitely try dropping that opacity and see if it helps the overall visibility.
