In reply to: Temporary professional helpI don’t see option that enables me to edit my posting of the job. That is what I would like to do. You can see my posting at WordPress Blogger Positions on the WordPress Jobs site. It is posted as WP Technician, the one in Rockford, Illinois.

In reply to: Temporary professional helpHow do I indicate that the temporary WordPress Blogger Positions for a WP Technician in Rockford that I announced in Word Press Jobs has been filled?

In reply to: Temporary professional helpI would apparently have to set up a new FTP account for my blog, which could be temporary. I got some tutorial instructions for doing this from another technician. Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Temporary professional helpThanks so much for these additional details regarding this matter. I’m still not sure how I would have to set up a separate login and FTP access for a temporary technician. Where do I go on my blog to do that? I now manage my blog from its Dashboard, but I don’t understand all of its various options and functions. I appreciate your help with this.

In reply to: Temporary professional helpI need some more detailed instructions for giving access to my blog to another technician. If I add another user to my blog as an “administrator” what control do I have over his manipulation of my blog’s features and its content? Could I remove him from my list of users when he is finished with his services? Or could I change his role to that of a “subscriber”? And what specific parts of my blog or site does he need access to in order to provide his requested services? And how do I give him access to just those areas? Please give me some more detailed guidance regarding this matter. I don’t want to create more problems for me in the operation of my blog than I’m trying to solve. Thanks.

In reply to: Temporary professional helpI have listed this project with jobs, and received some interested inquiries from several technicians, but I don’t know how to give them access to my blog. Some guidance in that matter would be helpful. Thanks for your reply.

In reply to: Click tagsI think that I found the list for all of these tags, so I can continue to cut it appropriately. Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Click tagsI just realized that there are some tags that I have created and cited that are listed in the list of Click Tags that are not listed on the menu list of Popular Tags. How can I delete some of these tags that I now realize are not useful? I still need to clean out this list of Click Tags. I need a little additional help with this matter. Thanks.

In reply to: Click tagsI discovered that I can go to the menu for Post Tags and delete any of the cited tags from the list and they will remove any of the tags from the posts where I have selected them to be used. I am going to greatly reduce this list, because I don’t believe that really draws more viewers to my blog. Thanks for your response.

In reply to: Registering usersBasically I think that trackbacks and pingbacks represent legitimate responses to my posts, so I conclude that it is probably OK to accept them. Thanks for the compliment regarding the display of my site. I get a lot of comments regarding this feature of my site and the level of my writing, but most of them are treated as spam. At least a large number of viewers apparently regard my blog as interesting, because many of them have marked in with “bookmarks”. I’ll keep studying about this feature.

In reply to: Registering usersClayton,
The comment had a little more detail with it in addition to the text of your statement. It may have been a “pingback”, but I don’t know how that feature of these programs works. I printed a copy of the Codex article on an “Introduction to Blogging”, so that may add to my understanding of some of these features. Since I required viewers to register before leaving any comment, I haven’t received any comments. I also haven’t received any spam. For awhile I was allowing non-passed comments to be sent to my “trash” box just so I could see what some viewers were saying about me and my blog, but none of their comments added anything to my posted topics for discussion. But now I don’t even bother with checking such “trash”. I assume that my present settings are the best way for me to control spam, recognizing that legitimate comments are probably going to be few and far between on my blog. Thanks for you further response.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Registering usersClayton,
I saw your comment in my “pending” box waiting for my approval. This indicates to me that you passed the filters for spam, but I didn’t see any notice of your registration in my blog. How could you submit your comment without being registered? You are not listed as one of my “subscriber” users. So I’m still somewhat confused about this registration step in this process. Your further help with this would be appreciated. Thanks.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Registering usersThanks. This clarifies the procedure for me.

In reply to: Registering usersI don’t understand your response to my inquiry. Where are any instructions to my viewers that tell them that they have to register in order to submit a comment to any of my posts?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Registering usersThanks for your answers to my questions. I don’t see a clear instruction that informs viewers that they must register in order to leave a comment to any of my posts. How will they know that they have to do this? Are those who have currently been approved as “subscriber” now entitled to submit comments to any of my posts? I don’t know if any of them have, but I’m just wondering if they need a different status for their submission of comments. I still don’t clearly understand this particular part of the registration process.
