In reply to: [WP Biographia] Bio Page HelpYes, it is lovely that life us filled with those little ironies!
Waving to you from the hills behind Shisendo, a lovely temple in NE Kyoto.
The problem seems to have righted itself while I walked.
I was using addresses registered at Gravetar; six different people and accounts. They all showed with their images in the user panel. All but one showed properly on the bio page. I clear caches, changed browsers and changed devices to no avail.
Thank you for your generous support of minimally technically competent people like me!
I appreciate it and will pay it forward!
Best
Bob

In reply to: [WP Biographia] Bio Page HelpUsing the documentation, I’ve finally got things happening the way I want, with one exception.
One photo will not display on the WP Bibliographia page. It shows in the user accounts. All other user photos display. I’ve cleared cookies and checked with multiple browsers and devices, but no go!
Any ideas?

In reply to: [WP Biographia] Bio Page HelpThanks very much!
I did read through the documentation, but I am a bit too much of a novice to find what I needed. I am very appreciative of your support!

In reply to: Resources PageA bit more detail: I’m looking for something where I and members of my team can go to a form, enter a resource name and description, upload a file (PDF, PPT, WORD, etc.) and have it appear on the site in an attractive layout that is searchable.
So, even though this topic is marked as resolved, it doesn’t seem to be. Is this simply a problem that cropped up in the current instance of WP, and we have to wait for another update?
As far as I can tell from reading through this, many of us are facing multiple problems with the media library upload.
Is there a fix someone can explain?
I know I am missing some basic things here. When I read:
– login to your ftp
– make your wp-content folder 755
– inside wp-content create a new folder called “uploads”, make it 777
– inside the control admin panel, go to settings>miscellaneous and on the first line enter “wp-content/uploads” as where your uploads will go to.
Save and go try to ad a new image in a post and it will work superbI don’t know what it means to make a folder 775 or 777. It doesn’t seem to mean renaming it. Where would I make these changes? Sorry!
