Thanks, that was the problem. I added the page protect log out button plugin and the problem is resolved. Thanks again.

Andrew, I appreciate your insight. My dilemma is that I am a dance instructor and not a techie. This is why I use wordpress to negate having to know HTML in depth or PHP or ?

I did run the validator, but what do I do with the output?

Things were fine until I updated to WP3.5 and I have had nothing but one problem after another since then. I do not necessarily blame the upgrade, it is just coincidental.

Barry, ignore the [ .. ]. I just wanted to set off the name from the rest of the sentence.

Thanks Barry, but it is neither or those. I checked out each but there are not what I lost. As I recall it was named [content block]

I hope that someone at least knows of it, uses it, or knows the author.

I don’t know how it could just disappear?

Thanks jonradio, I finally got it cleared late last night after following all tips, running malware, adware, and deep scans with no results. Finally reset firefox (with the resulting pain.)I think that the carrier was a flash add-on in firefox. It was comforting to know that the general public was not seeing what I was seeing. Thanks again for the time you invested to help me. It is truly appreciated.

I just got the drop downs to work. I found great instructions from govpatel on how to set up.

Great create a menu and then add your pages in the menu you can add posts and categories if you want by clicking on screen options and tick what you want see on the page.

once you have what you want in menu you can arrange them as you wish by drag and drop

for the submenu drag under parent and move it slightly to right and drop

if you want grandchild do the same under the child

Once arranged your menu make sure you select your menu from drop down in top left box and save

Save Menu and you should have sub menus on your website.

    This worked perfectly.

Well, I finally summoned up the courage to edit the wp-config file as tomontoast suggested. I would not have done so without a green light from esmi. Thanks to the both of you the problem is resolved and I can once again use the page edit function.

I have tried Twenty Twelve with the same results … no page edit.

I have tried all TS suggestions except writing code (I already have enough problems.)

I have also tried differenct browsers with the same results.

If I go to the website all is as per last edit.
if I click view page all is as per last edit.
on the page edit I cannot select the text tab
I have reinstalled WP 3.5 with the same results

From now on I will wait several weeks before doing any updating.

News Flash! You say that being unable to edit is a Theme problem … well the same situation exists with Twenty Twelve … the page edit box is still blank. My website still reflects the last change. Also, while in the edit page if I click view page I get my last edit. Additional infor the text tab does not work either.

I need better answers that spending an entire day charging windmills.

I appreciate all of the tech input, believe me I do … however, again I don’t do code. I have no idea of how to edit wp-config.php file or even where to find it. If I switch to another theme, how do I know that it will not have wp5 bugs?
