In reply to: “wp_categories’ doesn’t exist” error in database wp 2.3GREAT idea, thanks. I thought my database was restored, but it wasn’t. All is working fine again!
It’s going to be awhile before I try to upgrade to the new version again.

In reply to: “wp_categories’ doesn’t exist” error in database wp 2.3I am still having a huge problem with my blog since I tried to upgrade to 2.3.
Before the upgrade I backed up everything and then used subversion to get 2.3. I saw the database errors described. I decided to roll back, so I deleted the new directory and restored my old directory. I’m back on 2.2.2 (so my admin panel assures me), but now I’m still getting error messages at the top of every post

WordPress database error: [Table ‘payless_gartenbergcom.wp_categories’ doesn’t exist]
SELECT * FROM wp_categoriesAny ideas on how to get the old version of WordPress working properly again? I’m giving up on 2.3 for now, but would like to have a functioning blog without tons of errors. Thanks.

In reply to: I hate blogspammers – this is how I kill themThanks for the code! I installed it and it seems to work like a charm … except somehow, some messages are still getting through to my moderation queue despite having banned words. When I post the same message myself manually, though, it gets blocked. So somehow, some of the blog spammers are getting around the code. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH. Still less than before, though.

In reply to: line breaks in WPv1.5FYI, I’m on Word Press 1.2.1, and in my right-hand side of the screen, for my links listings, if I manually try to add in line breaks, what shows up is actually the html code and not a line break. In my earlier version of Word Press, I could add in html code manually for line breaks and the breaks would show up on my site.

In reply to: Changing text case, adding breaks for menu itemsThanks. And I do feel foolish! I was looking at the wp-layout.css file on my LOCAL drive, which I thought was the same as the one on my Web server … but actually it’s different since I upgraded and didn’t move the new version over to my local drive. Oops.
