Looks like you and I are the only ones with this issue…

I have tried to contact NextGen directly. They have not replied. I also find it a little sad that they have not replied here.

Sure wish they would since this is a legit concern.

I don’t think this is an issue with your site getting hacked. I think it is an issue with NextGen Gallery. For some reason, this extra “stuff” is making its way into our databases and nothing is done about it. I had no idea of all this until my scanner plugin told me that haveagraceday.org was a malware site.

If anyone has any doubt about it then read what Google has to say:

I was hoping by now someone from NGG would have had something to add to this. Perhaps they don’t realize this is indeed a security issue…

For everyone that switched over to JetPack — were your stats from WP stats preserved or does everything start at zero again

My stats are all there. The solution is indeed to go with Jetpack.

Very well – Jetpack is installed. Configured the Stats option. Similar configuration to WPStats but the display is different.

I was able to see stats right off the bat.

SOLUTION:

1) Deactivate WPStats.
2) Install JetPack
3) Configure the Stats option. It will ask you if it is OK to connect to WordPress. Once you answer that question, it configures itself and you can then access Stats from the dashboard.

Evidently they broke the way WPStats worked. Hope this helps others.

Are you saying the WPStats plugin must be REMOVED before JetPack can be installed?

This is insane! Same problem here.

Deleted the plugin, added it back and it got worse. Now I’m getting all kinds of errors stating the API key is not valid and belongs “to somebody else”. WTF?

I’ve had my blog up and running for about a month now, and stats have worked flawlessly. Today they don’t.

Suggestions?

BTW: I don’t have JetPack.
