In reply to: Linked words show as strikethrough textJason:
I’m so new at this I don’t know how to check out its options or how to access the CSS files. Is that something you can tell me without too much difficulty?I know how to use FTP to get into the directories, so if I can access anything that way, I understand how to navigate that.
But I don’t know how to use WP dashboard menus to change plugin options. Maybe that’s the better way.
Am I asking for something really complicated?

In reply to: Linked words show as strikethrough textHi Jason,
I spent some time on this after I posted my issue here and managed to fix the problem by changing the link (by removing the coupon code) and adding the code to the bottom of the page. But today I saw this strikethrough on another link, so I knew the problem persisted.I did have “Broken Link Checker” installed and active. So, thanks to you’re suggestion, I turned it off and poof! The strikethroughs disappeared. Thank you so much. I wouldn’t have found that. And so glad that was the solution because I haven’t learned CSS or JS yet.
Even though I turned off all of the other plugins I added about the time this started, I left that one active because it’s really been helpful.
So, now my question is What broken link plugin can I replace this one with?
Thank you sooooo much!

In reply to: HTML code adviceThank you for your time and help.
Ahir Hemant: I’m afraid I don’t know how or where to write js or css codes. Nor am I sure exactly what you’re saying to do with the content. If it’s bad why would I put it anywhere. I read your sentence different ways with very different meanings because without commas, I don’t know which way to understand it. I’m sorry, but I don’t understand.
Andrew: I took out most of the code as you suggested, but needed to put a couple lines back in to keep the formatting correct. There’s still a couple extra blank lines, but I’ll need to learn even more about html to figure out where, in the script, these would be found. I hate html, the headings are written at the bottom of the script and the image is in the middle. But, that’s the way it works, I guess.
Thanks for your help. This is significantly better, and good enough to put off until I learn more.

In reply to: Macintosh compatabilityHi Michael and EyePhoto…
Thanks for your answers. Such simple things are a real mystery when you don’t use them. I’ll have to read about MAAMP. Thanks for the tip on that. I’ve put off finishing my web site because I was just stumped, but I think all this will help. Thanks again

In reply to: Macintosh compatabilityThanks. I got as far as finding PHP and mysql as requirements, but I’m so new at this I don’t yet know what those are. I will not be using a computer here as a server, but understand that I can use my space on my ISP site (they said that WordPress and all are compatible.)
What, exactly, is PHP and mysql? Are they software, or capabilities to process a language (or something else?)
Thanks for your answers. I think that gets me to the next step OK. Won’t have time to read the documentation until I meet a couple other deadlines that are racing toward me.
