In reply to: The MORE tag ruiend my blogO.K. I found the problem. It was a stray index file that matched the index in my main root. The link was taking me there. I never suspected such a problem until you responded. The problem started when I had another problem that I had to reload my indexes to fix. Apparently, the index form the main root got misplaced.
Thanks

In reply to: The MORE tag ruiend my blogIt is the same in both. https://parrishjones.net/blog >This the address for my blog.
As far as I know I have not changed these. But what should they be? I tried reading the instructions under the blog address URL. I am not sure what exactly they are telling me. Should I leave that blank? Thanks

In reply to: The MORE tag ruiend my blogThere is a problem with the more tag and nobody seems to be paying attention. I haven’e lost the posts, it just that when I or anyone on other computers click on “read rest of the story” or whatever the heck it says, the link takes them to my home page. Never had this problem before. If it were just happening on my computer, I’d think it had something to do with my computer, but it happens on others.

In reply to: How to use the More tagI have a problem with the More tag also. I know what it does but now all my more tags take me to my home page for my site not to the rest of the blog entry. The tag looks right in the code but it ends up causing a error of some sort. This happens for all my entries. two three weeks ago everything was working fine. I am using 2.2 also.
I started a topic about this the other day and now I can’t find it.
When I click on the tag, I get this for one of the them <https://parrishjones.net/blog/?p=58#more-58> The others just have different numbers.
I use an Apple Mac and Micrsoft word to write and copy and paste into the WP editor.
Thanks

In reply to: Pleas HELP with my grainy picturesThree things:
1) I am not sure why
anyone thinks they need to be snide or otherwise rude to others in a discussion. I feel there are several such responses above.
2) It would be nice if persons respond if theyread the msgs
they are responding to and see what the real problems are instead of responding to some preconceived perception.
3) that brings me to the last post which questions why this thread is in the wordpress support area. Simply, because this is where the problem is. I am having no problem with resizing my photos and uploading to my website in general or to two other websites I help manage. The only place I am having problems is in WordPress. It would be quite helpful if someone would deal with this subject in a a way that may be helpful.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Pleas HELP with my grainy picturesO.K.So I’m struggling with this problem also. I use a Sony Steady SHot 5.1 Megapixel camera on the largest size. Ny photos crop and print to fairly large sizes without loss of quality. I did an exhibit with 14 X 21 sized prints shot with this camera and edited with Apples iPhoto. I did use Photoelemnets to print them.
Here’s the deal. If I export the photos any size other than full size and try uploading them to WP they are useless. I send reduced sizes by e-mail to friends and they export in good quality. I open the same image on my computer and its great. I post the same photo to another part of my website at the size I’ve uploaded to WP with crappy results and it looks great on my website pages that are not WP.
When I upload the full size, I have to resize it from a huge image to a usable image taking a lot of draggin. This seems unecessary.Parrish Jones

In reply to: Image upload/server writingI’m having the same problem. Since I am not an expert, much of what I find in support simply doesn’t make since. It appears that the upload should simply get the image from my computer and uplaod it to the correct directory on my host directory supposedly in the wp content directory. However, I get the above msg.
I can upload through FTP, but it would be easier for it to auto upload as advertised. If someone could create a step by step process for this it would be helpful.
On another note, documentation is hardly adequate to know what the various utilities do.
Thanks!
