Many thanks. I believe I was unable to see earlier that it was working because of the caching plugins and the APC caching method on the server.

But now, later in the day, retesting across all browsers, I’m confirming as you have that it is working correctly.

I believe the problem I had was the result of using another plugin called “JavaScript to Footer” in conjunction with the Google Calendar Events plugin. Earlier in the day, I deactivated the “JavaScript to Footer” plugin and while logged in, tested it – it worked. After logging out, though, I believe my caching systems prevented it from immediately working …

It took me a few hours today to figure out what I needed to do to get this awesome feature working on my installation. I kept following the directions to the T, and nothing. Then, I decided to deactive Otto’s awesome and way-ahead-of-its-time Simple Facebook Connect plugin that I used to allow visitors to sign into Facebook to leave a comment on my site; and then, the following steps made it all work:

+ Go to Facebook plugin settings page, select box for Social Publisher
+ Go to Create New Post – type in a status update message in the box at the bottom. Publish the post.
+ It should appear on your timeline. Once it does, then you’ll find that “submitting” the “action” in the developers.facebook.com social graph dashboard actually works. An hour or two later, I received an email and notification from Facebook stating that my action was working.

I had the same problem not seeing the auth message, but tonight, I made sure to log out of Facebook in my browser (always keep it open) before trying it, and in the boxes where I can tag Facebook friends and pages, it had this message:

Link your Facebook account to your WordPress account to get full functionality, including adding new Posts to your Timeline and mentioning friends Facebook Pages.

The first part of the message was linked to a Facebook sign-in prompt that would talk with the Facebook application I created for the site.

I reckon we could play “list the plugins,” to see if we can observe any correlation. I’ll go first: “Akismet, Brightcove Video Player (customized), Categories to Tags Converter Importer, Disqus Comment system, Facebook Events Widget, iframe, Jetpack by WordPress.com, RSS Responsive Caption, ShareThis, Simple Facebook Connect, Tweet Blender, WordPress Database Backup, WP-Polls, WPtouch”

Me too. However, it still seems to work on one of my sites, though it stopped working on the other. It works on my 1and1 hosted site, but on the company’s GoDaddy hosted site, it no longer e-mails; just saves to the the server folder. Weird.

Me. Too. I use simple facebook connect on a site and the new contact form won’t work. Of course, I already have another solution for a contact form that came with the theme I’m using; but I hope future versions of Jetpack don’t conflict with simple facebook connect, or vice-versa.
