Much appreciated!
I was working on the CSV this weekend and came across a few more questions. You said I need the most recent transaction and subscription ID. They appear to be the same w/ Paypal Express – starting with an “I”. Does that sound right?
As for the latest Transaction date, where can I find that? In Orders? Or do I have to go to my Paypal account directly?
Can I import all data on one CSV, or does it need to be 1) Members, 2) Recurring Subscriptions, 3) Transactions?
This is all French to me, so thanks for your patience.
Hey Jarryd,
When I export my current member’s list from PMPro, it does not include their most recent subscription and transaction ID, which you said is essential. I see the transaction ID under orders. I’m guessing I just copy and paste as appropriate?
Is the the most recent “subscription” just the date on the order field? If this is correct, then I added a row to my CSV for the transaction ID, “membership_subscription_transaction_id” What would I need to add for most recent subscription data? And does it matter if I just put those rows at the end of the CSV to import to the new website? Thanks again.
Thanks Jarryd. The first part makes perfect sense. I’m not sure if you mean copy the database just to have all the info, or moving the database to the new website. I’m not sure I have the technical knowhow to pull that off.
I spoke to you on the subject of migrating members (CSV) several months back. Here’s the link – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/moving-paypal-subscriptions-from-one-site-to-another/#post-16973121https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/moving-paypal-subscriptions-from-one-site-to-another/#post-16973121
Does this method still make sense? Thanks again.
Or, perhaps what your saying is that I can put everyone at the same level and because they are already subscribers, the Paypal API transfer to the new website will take care of that?
Thank you, but I’m a little fuzzy still.
For purposes of transferring them over with the migration process (CSV), does it make sense that I have a Legacy level just for them? If so, since their subscriptions are current (Paypal API), when I transfer them to that new level, I’m just wondering if, or what I should fill in for the “initial payment” level, and the “recurring subscription” level. I don’t want to screw up their current subscriptions, double charge, or loose the subs. I just want to seamlessly transfer them over at the same time I move the Paypal API to the new website.
I hope my question makes sense. Thank you for your excellent support!
Hi Jarryd,
I’ve created my spreadsheet to move my subscribers (using PMpro) from my old website domain to my new website domain. The only problem I’m experiencing is when importing to the new website I have a subscription called, “1 DAY FOR $1”. Under Memberships/Settings/Levels on the existing/old website it’s identified under the ID column as “7” and named, “1 DAY FOR $1”.
When I import to the new website, the user is created under users, but it shows up as another level, “All Access – Legacy” even though I recreated the level on the new website with the same name, “1 DAY FOR $1” with a level ID of 7.
On my spreadsheet I have a column, “membership_level” set as 7 and “membership_id” as “1 DAY FOR $1”.
Any thoughts? Thank you!
OK, great. I understand. Thank you so much. I just have one last question. I mentioned that I’d like to try migrating a test account manually (it’s a subscription, $1 per day) from the current website to the new one. The purpose is that I’d like to just double check that the membership account information comes up as a logged in subscriber would see it, but I’m guessing I would have to change the PPE IPN to point to the new site first to even see if that data comes up, and at that point I’d be screwing up the subscriptions on the current site?
Thanks so much. You’ve been very helpful!
Thank you Jarryd. I just wanted to double check, I am moving subscribers from one domain using PMPro to a new one using PMPro as well. I’m guessing that the generic example you provided is pretty much the same process?
I was hoping to try a single test account manually (w/o CSV), but in the add user fields I don’t see: level, level ID, start date, fee, etc. Can that only be done via CSV?
Thank you!
