I tried again and ignored Googles warning that my site is unverified, even though it is according to Google Analytics and Google Ads.
I ran a test and it worked.
I ran a contact form submission test and it worked.
So yay my problem is solved I guess but BOOOOO to Google for their lousy broken system.

This process ends in the same disaster every year.
This is what I get when I try to verify with Google by choosing an account:

So once again I have to hire someone to deal with Googles inept system.

What steps did you take to re-validate ?

I’m getting really sick of seeing this error. This plugin is so unstable I have to test everyday in fear that it will break again any minute. Yesterday a client reported error message after hitting ‘Send’ button. I tested this morning and got a different error message. Then it works, then it doesn’t.
REALLY? Could it get any worse?
