After tinkering with various fixes for several days, I ended up reinstalling everything and rebuilding the site. Everything seems to be working now.

This isn’t a great option for some, but it did work in my case since this site was in the set up and test phase and was not yet active.

I have no trouble with FF.

I can upload in IE, but when I try to insert, I get an error that says “unexpected identifier, string or number.”

I’ve got another blog running on 2.5.1 on the same server with no trouble. The only difference between the problem blog and the working one is that the problem blog is in Spanish.

I’m having the same problem. The uploader works fine in Firefox, but I get an error in IE. However, my other installs of WP 2.5 are fine in IE.

This install is in Spanish. Don’t know if that makes a difference.

And I think it will lead to resolution of the problem. However, I don’t know where to look to implement the change. Would I edit the plug-in itself? If so, where?

I think I’ve got the problem resolved. I don’t think it had to do with the plugin, the patch, or the version (though I’m glad I upgraded!)

I ended up deleting the offending post, then creating a new “out of date” post. It did not appear.

I’m going to give that a go later today.

I’m worried about upgrading, though. We’ve done a lot of customization, and I’m afraid of breaking stuff. I guess if I have everything backed up, I can just roll back, though, right?

Here’s what I ended up doing: installing exec-php plug-in (which allows you to use php in text widgets, amond other things), then creating my own text widget with this code:

I tried editing the widgets.php file as indicated, and still no luck. Both of the categories I tried to exclude are still showing up.

I think I’ve solved my own problem. We’re changing the idea a big, and using Sideblog.

Do I have to specify height and width? I’m inserting a thumbnail using “send to the editor”. I’m then trying to style the image using the wysiwyg editor (the little picture icon)
