Thanks Mehrshad! Keeping up with continually shifting changes must be challenging at the best of times! Keep up the great work.
Hi Greg,
I’ve published another high activity (for my community) article, and the great difference between FB stats and WP stats continues
- 2006 people reached on Facebook
- Total of 467 Post Clicks, of which
- 263 clicked the link to the article.
At least 263 people have clicked through to the link, yet the backend of the article is showing only 43 hits.
So, the problem is persisting.
I am looking at other possible sources for this matter, including server. I’ll let you know when I have anything further to add.

Thanks Greg, will do!
Hi Greg, thanks for responding. Yeah, I’m aware of how FB tracks. The total reach for this article, at the time that I wrote earlier this morning, was 2,730. The 684 is the subset that actually clicked through to the link. On average, my click-through subset rate is 10%, and on hot items it’s about 20%. So these numbers (2,730 reached, 684 click-throughs) are pretty consistent with past pattern. Seeing 126 at the other end, in the WP backend, is not.
I have the tracking table enabled.
It’s weird. It’s a hot article my community, and it’s been copied and discussed in many places throughout FB. So the backend stat of 124 strikes me as unusually low. Hugely unusually low.
I’ve used WP-Statistics for 1.5 years now, and I love the product. I’ll keep on monitoring and see what happens. In the meanwhile, happy holidays!
My auto send function doesn’t trigger. Wish I could help. I too am looking for solutions!

In reply to: Deleting mass posts from trashThanks Paul. I do have access to phpAdmin but the code I copied and pasted (after backing up) didn’t do a thing. Like the other poster on that forum, I have just enough knowledge to make me dangerous.
Also, thanks for the video link. I changed the selection to 50.
Again, no avail. So, I plodded along and did the “delete trash” button, which nuked seven posts at a time.
The magic number appears to be 300. Once I got my trash down to under 700, I can now delete 48 at a time. Woot!!
Note to self: Smarten the freak up! Clean as you go…
Again, thanks Paul for your suggestions. The video definitely helped because now I know how to mass delete more than 20 at a time.
Thank you! Working perfectly.
Same issue for me, after updated to the WP 4.3. I have the latest version of the WP Stats plugin
Widget appears in both the widget layout in the dashboard, and in the WP “appearance” preview, but as you can see on my website (https://sooke.pocketnews.ca), it does NOT appear on the live site.
It is supposed to appear in the left column, just below the weather widget and a text widget.
Stats are being recorded, they are just not showing on the live site via their widget.

In reply to: [Carousel Horizontal Posts Content Slider] Timeout between elementsOther than changing the script, is there another solution? Or does the timer function simply not work (other than changing the script)? I’m liking the plugin, but it scrolls too fast even set at 12000, rendering it useless for my readers. Shall I hunt for another? Sooke.PocketNews.ca

In reply to: [Awesome Surveys] GAAAH! I just lost my surveys!!!!The survey questions are GONE (ie the form), as are the results I have gathered so far. I’ve temporarily linked to a whipped-up MonkeySurvey, but I was just weeks away from donating to you (when I “formally” launch)… this is a DEVASTATING loss!!

In reply to: Unable to access wp-admin after upgrade to 4.0.1 reauthOK. So, I feel like I’m missing something really stupid.
I cleared the cache and disabled ALL plugins, I used a browser I never use (EI), AND I also attempted a login on a machine I never use.
All for naught.
I also tried renaming the theme’s main folder (magazine-basic changed to magazine-basic-ren) (then cleared the cache/cookies again), and then the URL just returned a blank page.
I also changed the define strings in the wp-config.php file (then cleared the cache/cookies), and again, I just get bumped back to the outside front page.
I know it’s not the WordPress version, as I have a number of other websites and they are (mostly) all accessible.
I have a special ability of really screwing things up. Grin /and/ waaaah!

In reply to: Unable to access wp-admin after upgrade to 4.0.1 reauthSamuel Wood (Otto), I’ll set all that up on a browser I never use (IE), and delete all cookies prior to doing that.
I know how to disable all plugins via FTP; how do I get it back to the default theme? Same as disabling all plugins?
Thanks, I really appreciate your input!
