In reply to: Easy CMS Auto formatter? One option would be to bypass the post content box, and have them use just the custom fields. Then you would use a template that pulls in that info.
Not as shiny and easy, but gives consistent results. And, when you want to change your appearance, modifying the template updates all of the forms at once.

In reply to: CMS / Blog with sub-domainGenerally yes, you would want two installs if you want two different sites. You can create landing pages for different domains, but WordPress will want everything to be using one domain, so two installs would be how I would run it.

In reply to: new plugin – how to retain checkbox status? Thanks apljdi. I think I came to that conclusion, but didn’t want to create a table just for a measly checkbox. ?? Though I seem to remember a way to add an entry to the options table…perhaps in the next release. ??

In reply to: How to best integrate subdomain blog in main site?Well, one method (that could be done in minutes) would be to install blog1 at https://www.domain.com, blog2 at blog.domain.com, then use the same theme.
To link to your “Blog” on blog1 you would just need to create a link to https://blog.domain.com.
The down side to this is that you would have two installations to maintain. But if you don’t plan on ever changing your static pages, it would be fast and easy.

In reply to: First Plugin – review requestedI haven’t tested it myself, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t. SpamTask appears to block spam from coming in. DSD simply deletes what is in the Spam Queue each day.

In reply to: Is there a graphical view of folder, pages, posts?Probably what you are wanting is a way to collapse all parent pages (this is indicated in Windows Explorer with a + or – sign).
I do not know of any plugin that does this though.

In reply to: Help with URL and FeedburnerThe problem is that the RSS widget is not designed for that purpose.
The RSS Widget is intended to pull in feeds from other sites and display them on your site. It does not subscribe people to your feed.
I’ve never used FeedSmith, so I can’t comment on that; but you may want to consider the “FD Feedburner Plugin“. It directs all of your feeds to feedburner automatically.
If you want to add a link that says “Subscribe”, you need to create an html link to the feedburner location.

In reply to: Help with URL and FeedburnerI don’t think that has anything to do with your htaccess then.
Do you have the link on your site?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Help with URL and Feedburneriridiax is right. You should remove any reference to index.php from your htaccess file. Paste in your htaccess via pastebin.com and I’ll look at it.

In reply to: Wordpres IntranetInteresting – I didn’t know this was a problem – but apparently it is. Here is a solution found on a Joomla forum. I have not tested though, as we don’t run a proxy:

In reply to: Wordpres IntranetOkay – that helps a great deal. Expand on number 1. How are you displaying the feeds?
Are you converting the feeds to posts or are you using a widget or plugin to display them? If so, which widget or plugin?

In reply to: Wordpres IntranetI need to clarify:
- Are you talking about feeds going outbound from your newly created intranet? Specifically, other clients inside the network getting notified of new posts?
- Or are you saying that the WordPress Admin Dashboard doesn’t display RSS Feeds from the outside world?
- And are you trying to display RSS feeds on the public side of the intranet that come from other RSS feeds outside your network?

In reply to: Using WP On a Local Intranetokay – that’s the problem.
Go to the Admin panel and under Settings -> General enter either the private IP or the computer name of the machine that hosts the site for both WordPress Address (URL) & Blog Address (URL) like so:
https://192.168.1.10 or https://computername/
Done. ??
