Just some friendly feedback:
The problem was none of the above.

On my Pinterest account I had none open pin-board (or whatever Pinterest calls them). So this was an obvious mistake from my part. I created and named a board and the plugin connected immediately.
It might be helpful for others to know. Thank you very much both for your help and fast response.

However I do not know how (but would be very interested to know) an IT got to the conclusion about my “slow” server.

I never had problems with the server performance.

Also I confirm that the server settings meet and exceed the blog2social system requirements.

As I said, I have disabled the 2-factor authentication in Pinterest.

Wow that was unexpected. Well I tried to manually update the robot.txt. file from inside the search console. Thank you very much for your reply. I will wait a few days then.
