thank you so much. I did manage to reinstall wordpress and connect to the old database. Unfortunately the old database also contained my old site the url was brucecassidymusic.com/brucecassidy the /brucecassidy at the end of this url was my wp trial site which i could not get into. So when I imported the database I got the same thing. My Dreamweaver site plus the /brucecassidy wp site which I can’t get into.

I’m sure I can find the database on GoDaddy. Is there a slick way to reconnect to it?

Hmm. I’m a bit dangerous with this. I created a new database when I reinstalled the site. I think I’ll have to go through the process again – trash this site and then. GoDaddy talked me through it and admitted that they weren’t really up to speed on it.
Is there somewhere where I can get a step-by-step.

I don’t understand this statement by the way “Look at your wp-config.php and make sure that you are connected to the right database.”

I’ve now started to populate the site but I don’t mind losing my couple of posted items if I could just get my old site back

I must have connected to the right database because all of the correct info is in my content folder. I have a copy of the site on my desktop that corresponds too. I got it just by dragging all the files off the GoDaddy site before backing up the database.

Had to delete the site – now starting over.

Just replaced all the wp files except content and config files but get the same error
