Ok,

i′ve repaired it, the problem seems to root in this file “wp-settings.php”.

(replaced all files in the root directory with the 3.0.4. files, except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php).

Anyhow, why does it crash trying to update to 3.5? What could go wrong while updating?

Ok, sorry, i solved the SQL problem.

i used tip No. 2 from this post:

But, naturally, i′ve encountered another problem. After i′ve displayed the Number of SQL Queries on the blog, the result is:

109 queries in 4,341 seconds.

are there too many queries? The blog still runs slow, although the Database seems fixed.

I resolved the problem for now by downgrading to 3.1.4 again. And for now, i′ll stay right there. I still don′t know, what caused the problem, i′ve checked the requirements and what my host is offering twice, erverything seems to be fitting.

I think i′ll wait a few weeks to upgrade. It always proves to be true again – never change a running system. But, curiosity killed the cat i guess. ??
