I appreciate your quick replies very much. Unfortunately I still can’t get the plugin to work the way I would like it to. Anyway, I found a workaround, as the plugin that does the email encoding lets me add a class to every mail link. So I simply ignore email links in your plugin, and generate a special email icon via CSS.
Maybe this could also be an enhancement for your plugin, treating mail links in a separate way, and providing special icons.
Thanks for your efforts. It does not work as described.
Unencrypted mail link: data-wpel-link is set to “internal”
Encrypted mail link: data-wpel-link is set to “ignore”
There is no difference if the class is mentioned on the exception tab or not.
If I add ‘data-wpel-link=”external”‘ manually to the mail link it works as long as the link is not encrypted. As soon as encryption is active, the manual entry is automatically changed to “ignore” again. How can that be?- This reply was modified 4 years, 6 months ago by Hanno.
It *was* an issue with another plugin, pls. consider this as solved.
Thanks for your quick support.
There was a cron issue indeed, which means that the site definitely has to be online with a proper DNS record to get the plugin to work. Maybe a good idea would be to optionally let the switch off cron usage, maybe as a fallback option also.
Sad to say, only providing a list template with just headline, date/time and author is not enough. There are other free RSS plugins around that offer more.
Thanks anyway.
Hi Mark,
thanks for hearing from you. I did not contact your support, as your plugin site says there wouldn’t be any support for the free version except the FAQ (at least I think I read something like that, maybe I misunderstood).
In the RSS Aggregator menu => Feed sources the timer for Next Update is running upwards (!), and the number of imported items counts to zero. If I click on the feed title, however, the Feed Preview shows the latest 5 feed items out of ten.
The site is not online, but this should not have any effect for just displaying an external RSS feed, shouldn’t it? There is another RSS Retriever plugin running well (WordPress RSS Feed Retriever by Theme Mason) but I am looking for an alternative due to missing German translation. I deactivated that plugin to no effect. Clicking on “fetch” makes the wheel spin, but nothing else happens.
I use the divi site builder, maybe there’s an issue with that?
Any help is highly appreciated! After days of silence by the “support”, I managed to find the reason for the issue myself. Thank you for nothing! I will switch to a different backup solution.
If this is so, why don’t you publish it on WordPress? I DO worry, because some other things seem to be broken (cf. my other thread).
