  • Does your host have softaculous in cpanel? if you go in there, to blogs and then installs it has the login as admin button. Might at least let you login and update plugins and disable to start troubleshooting. Other than that, some other genius may need to respond lol.

    I’m on Hostgator, using WordPress with Google XML Sitemaps enabled and everything seems to be working fine with one exception – The robots.txt file and Google’s webmaster tools are not getting along. Everytime I test the sitemap url in webmaster tools I get an error saying;

    Errors – Error
    We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.

    1 Error – URL restricted by robots.txt

    The odd thing is I did not seem to HAVE a robots.txt to start with. I’m about to do a chat with Hostgator support to see if they’ve seen this. I don’t think this is actually an issue with this plugin because I’ve tried numerous other sitemap plugins and it’s the same across the board if nto worse. I’ve been having google webmaster tool sitemap errors for the last several months and I can’t seem to fix them no matter what lol

    Hey, do you know if hostgator turns this on by default? I’ve not turned it on or enabled it.

    John, I could see that (on 2.5) it was duplicating the image count – at least in terms of numbers of images listed – but of course it would not show the gallery due to the error message.

    Honestly I wish the program would not put any images in the WordPress media library and instead use it’s own like NextGen. ?? If you do a lot of galleries, this floods the media library with images that I rarely need to access outside of a gallery. JMO

    ?? Thanks for the work so far. I’m still able to import into next gen and into MaxGalleria and it works well.

    Well, it partially worked.

    If I import a gallery from NextGen Gallery it displays perfectly.

    However, if I add multiple images into a new gallery it’s doubling each image and inserting them into the gallery. So if it’s 33 images, then it shows 66 images.

    At least it’s not throwing an error now… I call that progress.

    ??

    After the update can’t get new gallery to show as it throws the error above. I’m using wp multi site. It does show dupes in file manager. The gallery shows 66 instead of 33 images. I tried going into next gen. and the gallery works fine in there. Then I imported that gallery into max and this time it did show 33 images but it still throws the fatal error so as of right now new galleries just don’t work.

    Okay, actually it was the auto-link feature within Simple tag. That is the feature to where it finds tag names throughout your posts/pages and links the tag names automatically. So it found the links in wordtube probably or something and corrupted the links. But still… check plugins!

    I had to uninstall the simple-tags plugin and it fixed that error for me. The moment I uninstalled it, all of my flash wordtube videos showed up miraculously. Disable your plug ins one-by-one to see what the offending plug in may be. Maybe another tag plugin?

    Same here. It’s odd. I’m a computer geek with a degree in computer technology and it seems as though they’ve rendered it useless.
