ps when I create a new blog it says comments enabled.
when I edit the text later, it turns off the comments by itself
how to turn on and keep the comments on?

I created a .htaccess file and chmod it to 666.
Updated permalink structure (used default options)
Saved to htaccess.

Now when I try to get to page it says Forbidden. you dont have access to this page.
(I temp. renamed htaccess to view page)
Please advise.

well i did try to add a permalink to the htaccess in the root dir. (first I tried update but it didnt take, even though permissions were set – so I tried cut/paste – but that corrupted everything. So I took it out and rebooted and at least got the home page back)

I tried clicking update permalink structure just now but no change. (tried htaccess at 755 and 777 – Im not sure what it should be set to.

mod-reqwrite is working on the server

Am having similar trouble trying to edit the background color and middle column body color. I changed the bgcolor in the “Typograpy & Colors” and also in the “Background” sections – but no change is seen. I dont see where the image area gets any color change.

In my trackback I added both rss feed page (in my case I use .xml as it was easily validated) and mp3 pages.
1. Are both necessary,
2. Is this address the same issue described in codex; or does it only relate to ping?

(otherwise all seems successful; ipodder finds my xml page and loads it into itunes.)
