I hadn’t but I have now and I still see the same large files, despite the fact that they haven’t been there for a few days now. I’ve tested with a a few different browsers so I don’t think it’s a client side issue. Is there any debugging I can enable to investigate further?

Ah, I get it now. You’re using cURL to pull the data feed. I’m running this on a test system platform using easyPHP which doesn’t have cURL enabled by default.

This is probably one of those situations where I would have saved myself time if I had simply installed straight into production ??

Did you get to the bottom of this? I’m in the same place: WP 3.5.2, fresh install of the plugin with no other plugins installed but I get:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error
