In reply to: [Sharify Social Share Buttons] base64No, I can’t actually “identify” anything. I’m just accustomed to reading that encrypted base64 code is bad to see. Sucuri, Wordfence, and a billion other blogs almost always mentions that base64 is never good to have in a file.
I honestly don’t know if it’s “wrong” or “right”.
….because it’s encoded ??So, if something is encoded, why? And how is ‘Joe Schmoe’ supposed to know and / or see what the code actually does (wrong or right)? And, shouldn’t the ‘source’ code be open and readable anyways @anevins?

In reply to: [CampTix Event Ticketing] Don't show (hide) remaining ticketsYou’d either stick that in a child theme’s functions.php or, like @ian mentioned, you’d wrap that code in a handy dandy plugin so that if/ when you changed to a different theme, the plugin would still be present.

In reply to: [TwentyTwenty] Is this a CopyCatYeah we had a long discussion about that over in the Fb group. It turns out someone had almost copied everything from your plugin and simply uploaded it for sale on CC.
A few things: YOU gave Zurb credit. They did not (originally)
It might have been nice if those guys had given YOU credit (but they did NOT)
Their plugin almost line per line, folder names, folder structure, code and almost everything was simply a duplication of your plugin.
After I looked at their code some more, I sent CodeCanyon a message and asked them to look at both your plugin AND the original stuff from Zurb, mentioning that either (or both) an MIT license, or mention to you, and/or Zurb should be included with their ‘paid’ plugin.
CodeCanyon took the plugin down, and then put it back up once the author had included licenses.Drama.

In reply to: [YITH WooCommerce Featured Video] Youtube problem? Edit this line. That’ll make “what” work? The related videos at the end?
crappers, this really gonna suck some resources. I’ve got 30 stores, each on multisite, each store having a lot of the same images. Instead of being able to upload these images once and share it, I’ve gotta do this 30 times? …for all 43 products at each store? …really? …surely we can find a way to facilitate sharing this w/ a woocommerce setup.
Unfortunately, when I go to set product and featured images, I’ve got to upload 5 images ( x 42 products, X 30 stores = 6,300 images!)
wow.

In reply to: [Brute Force Login Protection] Conflicts with htaccessSo… after ‘X’ number of failed logins, it should simply write or add that IP address to the .htaccess file.
…and, of course, that’s all ?? Everything else in the .htaccess file should be the same ~ 301s / compressions / hotlink protections / ….In other words, if I’m getting sucuri alerts and / or checking the log files and finding tons of IPs attacking via brute force, this plugin should simply ‘ADD’ those IPs to the .htaccess file if there are more than ‘X’ number of failed logins.

In reply to: [Konnichiwa! Membership] Protected FilesI work w/ WordPress and companies professionally, but here’s why I think you might have a winner on your hands….
EDD is big. So big, as a matter of fact, that sometimes folks get ‘overwhelmed’ with WAAAAAAAAY too many options. Plus, to get a site to do something specific, it involves purchasing and configuring WAAAAAAY too many options. So now, folks are stuck with “expensive” and “overwhelming”!WPMU DEV has a great Membership plugin, but they haven’t pushed an update to work with Stripe.
I can go on and on and on with different plugins. But the point here is that the WP community needs a plugin that can focus on simplicity. For example:
$20/mo unlimited downloads w/ protected file paths would involve tons of levers, buttons, configurations, downloads, and a “plugins” menu that’ll damn near have to be paginated ?? if I went with most of the current options!! (which is absolutely crazy)So, all you pretty much need to do (in my opinion) is obfuscate the downloadable files and you’ll be in the big leagues!!
