In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Backups still not completingWhere do I send you the log? (It’s a client site, so would prefer not to post the log or the screenshot on a public forum.) Thanks.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Backups still not completingI’m still getting the error I noted previously:
ERROR: Exception caught in ValueError: trigger_error(): Argument #2 ($error_level) must be one of E_USER_ERROR, E_USER_WARNING, E_USER_NOTICE, or E_USER_DEPRECATED
Also, backups still aren’t completing without me running them twice. Any update on this?
Thanks.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Backups still not completingThe site was at 7.4 before the update to 8.0 (recently) and was having the problems, I’m not going to revert at this time.
I tried a new job with Tar instead of Zip. It hangs up at the exact same spot.
And again, if I run the job immediately after the one that locks up, it works just fine (just almost double the size). So it sounds like something isn’t properly getting initialized on the first attempt maybe?
I set a job to run, and then set a copy of it to run 5 minutes later — and that worked (on the second run). So for now I have a solution that’s not awful, but it would be really great if this could be fixed. Thanks.

Thanks. I didn’t mean to suggest there was malware in the current WPCode files, I was wondering if it was a problem possibly in the past or if you’d seen anything related to this issue — like you said, maybe a false positive.
Thank you, I’ll try the reinstall as you describe.
I don’t really think there’s malware, but I’ll of course explore further to confirm. (It’s a site I’m building from scratch locally, unlikely to be infected, but I guess ya never know.)
Actually, just scanned it again with SUPERAntiSpyware and it didn’t flag anything.
Thanks again.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Backups still not completingI grabbed the log from the last time it tried to run (see below — I edited some of the info (adding in placeholders to keep my client’s details a little more private), but I can provide as needed) — it’s pretty much the same as what I saw just now. However, this time when it got stuck as above I was watching and I saw it also gave a red error message:
ERROR: Exception caught in ValueError: trigger_error(): Argument #2 ($error_level) must be one of E_USER_ERROR, E_USER_WARNING, E_USER_NOTICE, or E_USER_DEPRECATED
I did recently upgrade the site to PHP 8.0, though, so I think the error above might be something related to that and not the “Trying to make a list of folders” locking up issue.
Yeah, as before, after seeing the log issue like below, I run it again and it runs okay. (I saw a “restart after 30 seconds” message twice, but it kept going and completed the backup fine.)
It doesn’t feel like it’s a big backup issue — is under 300MB a big backup? If so, how do I split it up (just back up different folders in different backups)?
Thanks.

[18-Feb-2024 03:03:52]?1. Trying to make a list of folders to back up?…Thank you Peter, that worked!
I had a similar problem recently and saw someone suggest putting the 2FA code at the end of the password (no spaces) and that worked.
Any update on this one? Thanks.
Thank you so much @wfphil. There was actually a plugin with issues that needed to be addressed — looks like that was the one causing problems. (It’s gone, the error is gone.)
Is there an update on this that others could use, too?
I’m not comfortable disabling accessibility features in order to fix this — a fix shouldn’t remove important functionality.
A CSS solution would be good — but not if it doesn’t work on all browsers.
Thanks.
I don’t think I’d consider this resolved? I figured out a workaround to fix a problem — efforts to troubleshoot and fix the problem would still be appreciated.
@duongcuong96 I reloaded the page and the job restarted, but I don’t think it was running — as before, the first run ended with the same results as I described above, and then a second job was listed (and completed fine).
So are you saying to set “Maximum Script Execution Time” to 0? (Right now it’s 30, so it feels like that’s not the issue since it’s stopping at 0 or 1 second, not in 30 seconds.)
I enabled the log — it gets through the database backup (I see the lines for the database table details) and then ends with:
[25-Jun-2021 09:27:31] Added database dump "database_name.sql" with 29.98 MB to backup file list [25-Jun-2021 09:27:31] Database backup done! [25-Jun-2021 09:27:31] 1. Trying to make a list of folders to back up …
As before, after I’ve done this one time, if I click to run again, it runs fine. I’ve seen this across multiple sites (my own and clients’). Is there something that would be triggered after the first run fails that would then allow the second run to go smoothly? (And since an automated run only happens once, it’s not working.)
I just did a test — set up 2 jobs (copies of the current schedule job) — one to run at 9:35, the other at 9:40. The first one did the 0 second run like above, the second one completed. So until this gets fixed, at least I have a way that might work for automated backups. Hope that helps others who might be having a similar problem.
