Business Manager

@evalast I managed to figure this out, I believe. A file is accidentally named in such a way that it might cause issues with certain server setups. I managed to recreate this bug on one of my hosting accounts and solved it by renaming:
/wp-content/plugins/business-manager/includes/lib/cmb2/includes/CMB2_hookup.php
to
/wp-content/plugins/business-manager/includes/lib/cmb2/includes/CMB2_Hookup.php
I’m going to release a new version here shortly with that very minor change but, if you don’t want to wait, I would suggest giving that a try yourself to see if it solves the issue.

@evalast Thanks for the bug report. I’m looking into this now with my local installation but can’t repeat the issue. I’m running:
- WordPress 5.8.1
- WooCommerce 5.8.0
- Business Manager 1.4.6
Are you noticing anything in your server’s error log after your updates? Or perhaps there’s another plugin you updated recently?
These kinds of problems are hard to diagnose via the forum. If you wouldn’t mind contacting me via email at [email protected] I would appreciate it. Sending a list of your actively installed plugins would be very helpful as well.
@richardklingler There’s no front-end component to Business Manager. It’s an admin-only plugin for now and there aren’t any plans to change that in the near future.
Hopefully, there’s another plugin option out there better suited to your needs. Thanks for giving Business Manager a try.
@vovastik Thank you for the bug report. I’ll look into this and a possible fix for the next release.
@dionpetrop Business Manager’s translation work can be accessed here:

This should be fixed in the latest 1.4.1 release but if you still experience issues please let me know.
@evalast I think I found the fix for this. If I don’t get the new version out tomorrow it will definitely be out by Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience.
@evalast I have a new release coming next week. I’ll look into this and see if I can come up with a solution. Are you just using WooCommerce alone or are you using any WooCommerce-related plugins as well for the variations?
@d4mation Any chance you can email me at [email protected] sometime? I have a few questions about your site and some records in its database.
Let me look into this some more this weekend and get back to you. I’ve already found a few suggestions from other plugin writers but they all seem messy (like creating a separate plugin to run inside of the mu-plugins directory to create custom roles).
Can you roll back to a previous version of Business Manager to escape the error? That might be your best bet, temporarily, until I can figure out what is going on.
I have a new release, 1.4.1, that I was going to push live soon. Maybe with some luck, I can figure this out and get the fix in there.
@d4mation Sorry to hear you’re having problems.
That’s possibly multisite related. I don’t test in that environment, to be honest.
I’ve got a few questions if you have the time to answer:
- Are you logging in as an administrator when you see this error? Or as a super administrator?
- If not, does your install even have an administrator role anymore?
- Are you running any plugins that deal with users or role management?
I did some looking around and this seems to be a rare occurrence with other plugins as well. I’ve never seen it before but, with the release of 1.4.0, there’s so much new code for roles it’s certainly possible I screwed something up. Any insight you can give with those questions above would be greatly appreciated.
@petarganchev Sorry, but I know next to nothing about Loco Translate or how it works.
@w4cdev The latest release, 1.3.5, should take care of this issue for you.
For your questions:
- There has been no testing with multisite.
- There are no plans to built a front-end for this plugin at this time. It is intended to be an admin-only tool.
@bashiro Business Manager is an admin-side plugin only.
@rojokuze In the future, I want this whole process to be more streamlined and tied to non-admin dashboard accounts.
