In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?@ pinoyconsole,
I’ve already had deans permalinks migration plugin installed and active but it still didn’t work correctly after the upgrade to 2.5 until I implemented the solution suggested by DLO above.
Just replace the rewrite.php file and do as he says and it will work.

Thanks for that additional bit of info, my pages are now viewable again.

In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?I copied down the new ‘rewrite.php’, uploaded it to my site and tested, but it made no difference. I’ve still got the issue where I cannot see any pages displayed.

In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?Unfortunately there has been nothing but silence from the WP team on this issue, even though I logged a defect and posted here about it, and even though there are many of us who have experienced the issue.
The silence is deafening ??

In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?Latintop,
my permalink currently is /index.php/%category%/%postname%/
Right now I can see posts, but can cannot see any pages, even though they are in the DB.
If you’re a wiz with permalinks maybe you can also help me out with an even bigger question? Check out the link below. Thanks
Mog – I don’t suppose you can advise me on how to get my content across from one site to the other when the permalink and categories are changing?

In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?Latintop,
I tried updating my query.php file with that code and reloaded it up to my site but it made no difference. I still can’t see my pages.
Ah crap. I was under the impression it was buggered because I was on a Windows/IIS setup, but that if I changed the permalink in a Unix setup it would be fine.
Still – I’ve gone and purchased the new hosting and domains so I might as well do the migration, but I’m still looking for advice please on the best way to do it (e.g. how should I handle the changing permalink and changing categories?)

In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?I’m still waiting on some helpful advice Pitchslap about the best way to migrate over. See the following link for more info:-

I’ve bought the hosting contract, secured the new domains for testing purposes and all that remains is for me to figure out how to migrate across with the differing permalinks and categories.
All help greatly appreciated. I don’t want to waste a weekend doing it the wrong way, so if anyone can advise me, then please do so. Thanks.

In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?Unfortunately I don’t have those plugins, but I did deactivate all my plugins while testing this issue and it made no difference.
OK – I’ve got the new hosting account and I’ve registered a new domain to play with… but I really need some best practice advice here folks about the permalink/category migration.
Can you help me please? I’d really love to do this work over the weekend if possible. Cheers.

In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?Well, I’ve now gone ahead and taken out a new hosting contract with a linux hoster, registered a new domain name and have started another thread looking for help/advice in doing the migration because I can’t be arsed with this any more. It just looks like WP is not IIS/Windows happy, and never will be.
But I have to say in 2+ years of being here on these forums and using WP, this particular upgrade is the worst I’ve seen for bugs and a lack of response, which is a real shame as it’s such a big step up from 2.3
Like yourself I upgraded my test site (also Windows/IIS) first and it was fine, but when I did the same thing on my live site it buggered the pages but kept the posts for some reason.

In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?Has anyone from the WP team even acknowledged this error exists yet, or is it just a bunch of us users stumbling around in the dark at the mo?
Folks – I’m keen to get started on this but very aware that I may be making more work for myself than is necessary.
Could some kind soul who has experience of migrating content/permalinks/categories please advise me on the best way forward, given the circumstances above? Thank you.

In reply to: Upgraded to 2.5, now pages don’t display…WTF?Deletedpenguin: Unfortunately I don’t have the wp-sticky plugin installed so I’m still at a loss.
Pitchslap – I’m in the same boat. I’ve over 2 years of content and 800 posts/pages on the site and the thoughts of having to manually backtrack through all that is not appealing.
Mods/Developers – any ideas on this folks? How can we fix this?
