Thank you for sharing this insight, Champ;
The Ultimate Member module design allows control and access features on a wide range of content in WordPress and has multiple configurations screens to assure the web administrator can use click radio buttons and drop down menus to avoid the hassle of customization, something a developer usually has insights into because they created the overall architecture of the module and have developer notes on interface points with the core WordPress engine components.
Its a lot to ask from a web admin to do, they would be throwing darts in the blind and can modify some files which could have hidden issues that do not surface immediately on other parts of the installation – the reason developers test their modules and debug for months before release.
THIS IS A BASIC FEATURE which is rooted in role levels which is core to controlling accessing to the blog and forums on WordPress. The fact that the developers overlooked the fact that a certain role/membership level should not be seeing content assigned to another role/membership level is THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF THE ULTIMATE MEMBER module.
How did the developers distribute the Ultimate Member plugin while Recent Posts and Recent Comments IS OVERLOOKED IN THE CONTROL LOOP???? this is a longstanding CORE FUNCTION for any WordPress installation which highlights content recently published by authors and members/visitors.
With UM, the intent is to control who sees and can read what based on their membership restriction created by your module, how are these core WordPress functions (Recent Posts and Recent Comments) not part of the configuration screens available in Ultimate Member?
I am beyond bewildered; and to suggest this is some casual customization that a web admin can do, is a little humorous.
- For one thing, I dont have the workflow layout of your module and I would expect your people to be able to put together a patch or a code snippet on the fly considering how central the RECENT POSTS/RECENT COMMENTS is to all WORDPRESS installations. A gross oversight? sure it happens to the best of us, but no patch available in like a couple of days? wow that takes the cake!
Kind regards

Hey champ is this right????
Why would Ultimate Member plugin be impacted by another wordpress module? this is very sloppy code on the part of the vendor.
The entire purpose of WordPress is to pick and choose different modules from different coders and not be locked in by a string of modules required by a single developer.
Otherwise the entire WordPress platform and all its plugins might as well be available from a single source vendor like Oracle or Microsoft?!!!
I looked at your social login extension it is extremely limited, in scope of access it gives to website visitors, when compared to WordPress Social Login; and theirs is zero dollars when yours is $45 USD.
If I install a separate module (A) and it impacts the manner in which another module (B) functions, the vendor of module B should be keen to investigate and clean up their sloppy code.
WordPress Social Login is a highly popular plugin for good reason, it is in use on multiple CMS platforms and normally does not impact other components.
I am a little confused by your reply but anyways thank you very much for your efforts!
