Ole, I understand your concern but I want other devs to know that your table lacks support for a common use of data tables and that if they need a thousands separator and column totals they should quickly move on.

You could have warned me and others in your product description. You didn’t. Many of us value our time in the hundred dollar an hour range and you stole that time from us. And your solution sucked. A terrible hack.

By the way, I’m a tech entrepreneur who has worked with software since 1981. Also, tech entrepreneurs value our time at around $2,000 / hour. That can be mathematically calculated and that is well known. Please provide what your software doesn’t do that data tables can be expected to do in your documentation.

Also, fix the problem. The solution has been known for decades. Best of luck to you.

Tobias, I bought wpDataTables because it displays numbers with the thousands separator and totals the columns. The public must see thousands separators and often column balances in data tables.

I hope you sort this out somehow and I wish you the best, but it is not good that you don’t mention this clearly in the docs so people don’t waste a lot of time with evaluating your software when in the end they can’t use it.

Thank you. That does work for numbers in the display column with the NUMBER_FORMAT’s in each cell but I can’t make anything work for the totals at the bottom. I could hide the input column with the NUMBER_FORMAT for the totals mirrored in the display column if there was some way to show the value from SUM in the display column / mirror only the value.

When I try this with a simple =C52 in the display column it doesn’t mirror the value and I have this message:

!ERROR! C52 does not contain a number or expression

I would love to let users make some changes in the columns for their analysis but not have that change in the db. I’m sure that is asking too much of any WP data table though.

Great support for an O/S project!!!

I gave up and went with another option, SendGrid. One star app for me.
