I haven’t seen or heard of the error of the counts changing. This plugin had a lot of potential but the developer did not consider how to bring it’s existing users forward. It will work for new users until the developer decides to upgrade it and then another crop of users will be without their data as well. That is truly unfortunate.
I am I curious about this other plug in regards to the data you had from the other plugin did you lose it?
This is great news an official plugin from WordPress. Lots of built in features too at no cost. Pro gives a little more but this is great place to start. WordPress plugins are tested regularly. Catch it on sale it’s a steal.

@ripriprip wonderful news. Curious did you find a table where this data is stored in your word press backup?
@ripriprip agreed. The developer sees the community responses to this change I am not certain why he isn’t acknowledging that. For new users this is probably okay they haven’t lost anything but for pre-existing users our data is everything.
@ripriprip catching up with messages I just checked my site I am running 8.0.6 there used to be a link from the developer to this on this thread.
@ripriprip yes that should give you the results you need. It’s only 9.x.x that removes all your counts. Remember turn auto update off.
@chrisb1978 from the dashboard you should go to plugins there is an option upper right hand corner for you to upload plugins You need to make sure that the plug-in is accessible in a folder on your machine (navigate to the folder). You should be able to upload the plugin just like you upload an image. When you download the plugin it’s a compressed or zipped file you do not need to unzip it, upload it as is. Be sure to turn off auto update otherwise the plugin will move to the newer version. Glad you found the old one.

@chrisb1978 if you can obtain a copy of the old version you can get your counts back. The same thing happened to me. Remember to turn off auto upgrade on the plug-in. Mine upgraded and I lost everything. The new plug-in database structure changed. I don’t understand why the most common thing to bring data forward wasn’t done. This data is important to websites.
Still waiting for a resolution on premium reporting feature failure to run. Upgrading to latest version means losing all your count data.
unfortunately that appears to be the case.
I agree. That doesn’t follow the standards for new developments in technology. SEO relies on that data over time for performance.
