Thanks for the feedback. What do you think is better? Just create a new superuser and delete the original one, or do I change the name in the database table…

I actually went over to look at the ProVersion of BackWPUp. Looks like they hired the developer and released a version 3.0.

I did some research and it looks like that it adds a bunch of features, but doesn’t seem to add to the multi site functionality in any meaningful way. Like Gary, I want to be able to backup, restore a whole network and individual sites. I also want to use it to transfer sites from our standalone development site to our production multi site.

First of all thanks for your comments Gary and for your efforts with BackupBuddy

After several discussions with the pre sales departments, I was pointed to a section of their codex that outlined what the product would and would not do. I was ok with it, so I purchased it.

When I installed the new version, I get this message that I need to modify my wp_config file and add this line:

define( ‘PB_BACKUPBUDDY_MULTISITE_EXPERIMENT’, true );

I went thru the forums and codex and found no mention. I did see where they were considering this, but no where did it say that it was now required. I posted in their support forums and the thread is radioactive…no one will respond.

Sounds like I hit a nerve.

I think I am going to request a refund from backup buddy and continue to do cpanel and wp backups, with backwpup of the entire network as a fail safe and await the backwpup pro version or just go to vaultpress, which is expensive. Has anyone had any experience with VaultPress and Multisite?

Also, I found out that you cannot name the field anything other than the fieldname in SF. The field label in GF must match the custom field label in SF

Also, the plugin does not like spaces in the SF field names. I put in a field No. of Partners, and it didn’t work. I changed it to Partners and it worked like a charm.

I dont know if this is relevant, but I just got a custom field to work What I was doing before was using a URL field type in Gravity and the SF field type was text. I changed it and got it to populate.

I downloaded this one after having problems with the other widget. being able to access the lists and campaigns from WP is fantastic!

I am having the same issue here. Also, since I only have one active list, I want to uncheck the “Show list selection” and check the default list. Initially, there is a prompt that saus, this will be added to the active list that flashes, then it goes back to checked.

Thanks for the quick reply and information.

I would prefer to not use MU as this seems to be a way to have users launch lots of blogs and dont think I need all of that power to accomplish what I am trying to do.

Maybe I should explain what I’m tying to accomplish

I want to setup 4 separate blogs for 4 separate interest groups. ( group1.blogname.com, group2.blogname.com…etc) They want separate themes, so from what I read you need separate sites.

I know I can change the prefix for each and at least only have to back up one database, as all of the tables for all of the blogs will be in there.

Now, lets say someone writes a post that I as the editor should appear on each of the three blogs( group 1, 2, 3) Is there something out there that will allow me to post this entry simutaneously to these three.

I saw something at one point about using e mail post and then when it doesnt delete the post, post it again.

Any help will be appreciated
