    Yes, you are correct. If you are using the Regions module, we store the region data separately from the ad and reference the region that the ad belongs in by ID only, and don’t keep redundant data around.

    Those fields are for folks who don’t have regions installed, but still want to have some location data. The advantage of regions is two fold:
    1) We don’t redundantly store the data
    2) We have structured data, so everyone uses the same exact name for a region. Instead of things like “NY, NewYork, New York, NEW YORK” which will all be a pain to search on.
