In reply to: Main domain to WpSorry, I created a site with DW, uploaded to host,keywestvirtualtours.com, installed WP as subdomains of the site I created with DW. I have about 4 subdomians created with WP ie keywestvirtualtours.com/keywest. The subdomains now look better than the main domain. I would like to install WP as the main domain ie replace keywestvirtualtours.com. Content is not important as I can create a new WP site. The host offers free subdomains and I started experimenting with WP on the subdomains. Now the subs are better than the parent domain.

In reply to: pages do not existBack to the same ole same ole. I can log in on half the sites and the other half I get a error of connect to keywestvirtualtours was interrupted.
On the site i did get into I get the 1990s Dash without any GUI. It looks like an index. I did try to open a page and nothing happened. I am on great wifi and all was good mid afternoon. Being a newbie I dont want to start swinging blame ie Host. This is going on 3 days now. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

In reply to: pages do not existThanks WPyogi…took advice and cleared history, cookies, and site caches. Now working perfect. I still have auto fill in the browser window (chrome) So i am guessing I still have some traces or prior imput. Since it works now I better get back to the newbie life of trial and error. Thanks again

In reply to: pages do not existWhat a mess and for a newbeee a bit crazzzy. Now I can log in….Great progress….Takes a long time for any interaction with host Ipage(2 to 3 min). Get Dashboard…Great…links seem active….click on any link/command (pages, posts, etc)on Dash and It looks like I am back in business but No. The new requested page takes about 3 min to give me a totally blank page.
To log in I had to resubmit log info twice and when the Dashboard did come up it came up in 1990s fashion. Most GUI was missing. Reload and I get the proper Dashboard.
Recap: For a newbee thats a distorted recall, Now I can log in, (no longer getting page does not exist error), have to reload to get pages working, after Dashboard still a dead end. Nothing opens that is linked to the dash. Wifi is good in that while waiting for WP pages to open I was using other tabs with fast load times.I will check with host. Since the problems seem to clearing up ie can now log in, get to Dashboard and i have done nothing with the files on the server I am thinking its on the server end. Any feedback is appreciated ThanksForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: pages do not existThanks for the help. I do get a log in on all but one. Once logged in its a dead Dashboard. No matter what I click on in the left side ie post, pages, plug ins,etc it comes back as a “connection to keywestvirtualtours interupted” please try again. I can go anyplace else on the net including the sites themselves but the Dashboard links are not connecting. This is on all the subdomins. Only one site has a log in problem. This is better then yesterday when I could not log into any of the sites. Yesterday was the 406 error today is the Dead Dashboard problem. Thanks for the speedy reply. Just reread my original post and I forget to enter the link to the site without a log in. Sorry about that. It is Keywestvirtualtours.com/greenfamily/admin.
Thanks
I did try another theme to see how the Graphene theme would look in a preview. I did not activate the theme since this was a preliminary look around. I think it was on keywestvirtualtours.com/friday

In reply to: pages do not existIpage is the hosting company.I had just emailed them to see how to convert my main domain into a WP site and found the response a little off in that they mentioned that I should know how to install WP since I had quite a few subdomains. Its a stretch to call 4 sub domains “quite a few”. They never really did answer the question and the next day I started having this situation. They do advertise unlimited subdomains. I really dont want to think its the hosting company and I am sure one day I may laugh at the idea but being a novice I really dont have a clue. I did submit a ticket to the hosting company to see if it was on their end(log in errors as I was getting 406 errors yesterday) and they said it was fixed. Thanks for the attention to detail and I look forward to any feedback.

In reply to: Image size in content areaWpyogi, Thanks for your quick response. I dont know how to use a child theme. Looks like I have homework. Sounds like a useful option. I did find an answer by, drum roll please, experimenting. Went into the advance settings in the photo editor (WP) and entered the exact px count from the image ie resized smaller image and it fit as planned. I will google child theme. Thanks again
