In reply to: Need to Change How Post and Page Header Image Is CroppedAltaf
I pasted it into my child theme style sheet but it had no effect. I’m not sure what it was supposed to do but the home page image and the cropped single post header remained the same. Not sure what I’m doing wrong?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Video Problems After UpdateI’ve found that installing the KVS Player plugin has allowed my copious stock of uploaded flv files to be embedded again successfully. I still don’t understand why the WordPress embedded player can’t handle them.

In reply to: Video Problems After UpdateThanks for the response, t-p,
I’ve installed and activated Disable Real MIME Check but it’s not solved the problem. I don’t think this is an upload issue as the files are already uploaded on the server (IXWebhosting). They play in Media Library without issue. It’s only when they’re embedded on the post page using WordPress Embed Media Player that there’s an issue. All that shows is the play-bar of the player and it’s grayed out. It only happens with flv files. Mp4s play okay.
On my old theme (non-wp) I was using FLV Media Player, but I’ve discovered that is long outdated.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Author name not appearing under posts in twenty fifteenThanks, Michael, that works a treat. I really appreciate your efforts, it look a lot of work. I will run comparisons with your code and the original. Hopefully, it will provide some insight into how you did it.
Thanks again.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Author name not appearing under posts in twenty fifteenWOW! I feel like I’m back in kindergarten again. So much has changed in ten years. I really should have kept up more. I’ve installed “show current template” but not sure how it helps me. ‘Index.php’ seems to be the template for everything on the ‘front’ page but I haven’t a clue what to do with that information right now.
I need to do some swotting. If one of you guys could rewrite the code supplied by Michael to enable me to show the author name on all posts, that might give me a head start. I’m using a twenty fifteen child them but the only thing in it right now is a bit of CSS to alter font sizes.
I appreciate your efforts. Thanks a lot.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Master.zip file in root directoryI’ve checked with my webhost and it’s nothing to do with them. Apparently GitHub is involved in the development of this bit of code, but I don’t know enough to understand what’s involved. My site works fine. Webhost has suggested I check it’s nothing to do with WordPress, and then delete it. They’ll run a check to ensure the site’s clean. The date on the file says 2014-05-25, but I’m darned sure I’d have noticed it before if it had been around that long. Google search only comes up with one entry appertaining to GitHub – a request to update Master.zip. If anyone can throw further light on this I’d be interested. If not, I’ll delete it and get my webhost to run a security check on the site.

In reply to: dsparking – Hack Only Part ResolvedGlad you got it resolved. It sounds like your .htaccess file was hacked. Do you have the Securi Security plug-in installed? I installed it after my site was hacked and I’ve had no problems since.

In reply to: dsparking – Hack Only Part ResolvedNo, I’m sorry. In the end I gave it to my webhosting company to sort out. They eventually did, but I’m not sure of the cause, though I’m fairly sure it was a hacked database. Have you tried uploading a fresh copy of your database?

In reply to: dsparking – Hack Only Part ResolvedStill not resolved. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve searched long and hard but can’t find anything pertaining directly to this problem. I don’t want to chance deleting the code from my database until I’m sure it shouldn’t be there.

In reply to: dsparking – Hack Only Part ResolvedI’ve found this code in my database in the wp_options table under “{options_names}”. The option ID is 41300. I don’t know if its legit or not, but in Notepad++ it occupies twenty-six lines of about 120 characters per line. Over 3,000 characters in total! It starts:
a:2{i:0;s:2836:\"0|||PC9wPnx8fHx8fDwvcD58fHw8ZGl...
Can anyone tell me if it’s a legitimate part of the database, please?

In reply to: exploit/hack header.png and code added to config.php fileI didn’t get the warning, but I did find the offending code in my wp-config.php files, and the header.png in root. I deleted both with no ill-effects to my blog.

In reply to: [Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] Error loading stylesheettgurl
I’m not at all sure why you have this problem. I don’t see it matters whether you putAddType application/xml .xsl
before or after the other code in the .htaccess file. I can get a sitemap by typing in https://mydomain.com/sitemap.xml . I have nothing else in .htaccess, though.Hope you get it sorted.

In reply to: Different header per page?If you have the code for this I’d really appreciate it. I’ve been trying to do this for days and it has eluded me. I have two pages I wish to have different header images on, but I can’t get it to work, any which way.
