In reply to: [TNC PDF viewer] Be careful – very expensive add-on’sUPDATE: after a lot of communication with Envato, the sales platform, it;’s quite clear they are absolutely NOT interested in giving any support. They immediately blocked my account, making access to both sales information AND the raised issue unavailable, They immedialely start pointing at their terms with no visible intention of solving or even discussing the issue. I’m sorry I did no in-depth research to Envato: various website give near zero-star reviews, all similar. But I thought I bougt a WordPress plugin from a developer, not from a “middle man”….

In reply to: [TNC PDF viewer] Be careful – very expensive add-on’sAnd on the other hand: how can I know that Envato did not contact you on the refund question :-)? Especially since they mailed me that they sent you the request (see text above!)? You mention the codecanyon support page, but that’s not where I paid for the plugin – that was Envato.. I don’t blame you, it seems Envato is the weak link over here.
Anyway: contact is established. And the question is still quite simple: I’d like a refund since the functionality I expected is only available with an add-on that is too expensive for our club…- This reply was modified 1 year ago by cappersg.

In reply to: [TNC PDF viewer] Be careful – very expensive add-on’sThanks for the answer. It’s a bit unfortunate that a 1-star review is needed to get any response.
I’ve really looked well before installing the base plugin and got the firm impression the “bookshelf display”? function was part of the base package. When I started looking for that option in the settings I dicovered this needed an extra add-on. Looked for the price and got the almost 200 euro quote – which I now know was a mistake on my side. It’s actually “only” $125 – still a lot of money for a small carclub.?
So I asked for a refund at your sales organisation Envato, explaining the reason for my disappointment. I got a message: they put it through to the developers (see below). After that I got no response at all, not from you nor from Envato. I thought this might be caused by still having the plugin active so I deactivated and uninstalled it.?
Tried again to get a response after 2 weeks, but again nothing happened. After that I started a dispute on PayPal – invoking their buyer protection which only lasts 4 weeks. All that happened was blocking of my account at Envato. Which means I cannot send you any details: all information is on their portal which is completely unaccessible for me. I found something in my mailbox: that’s added below….
Envato and ThemeNode seem to have serious communication issues: Envato blocked my account directly when I raised an issue with Paypal blocking also access to all information about the transaction, and ThemeNode seems to know nothing about the refund request. Maybe that is caused by the fact it’s not a software problem ticket, but a sales problem? For me it’s simply a problem that needs to be solved…..
So I wrote the 1-start review. After the response – that came very fast – I started to check things again. The original plugin is $51 – with handling $57 for a lifetime implementation. The add-ons are indeed about $25 – for a year. The one I liked was the “Display” which is $125 for a lifetime. I’ve misread this price and will correct it in the review, sorry for that. But it’s still 2,5 times the original plugin price – to me a very expensive “add on”! So I stand by my basic point: be very carefull buying this plugin because you might quickly need add-on’s – and they come a a price!

Hi gerardcappers
We have sent your refund request to ThemeNcode for review. They will be able to approve or deny the request and may get in contact with you if they need to discuss any of the details. Any action taken by ThemeNcode will be emailed to you.
You can track this refund request here:

Michelle,
Thanks for the answer: good to know somebody is actually responding….
I’m usually very sharp in avoiding clutter: it is a quite common trick in softwareland….. But this time I failed to see the options: maybe they are quite hidden? Anyway: if anybody needs more reporting facilities they will be quite able to discover these themselves in stead of being forced to download them as a package. IF you really want to do the right thing make two different downloads: a straightforward download for the plugin the user has selected, and another one (presumably announced as “recommended” :-)) with the complete package.
Of course I removed the clutter directly, and it was good to see that seems to work OK using standard procedures. But it takes non-plannes time.

Great work – and very fast!!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Quiz Maker] page brokenThanks for the quick response. Contacted them 5 minutes ago referring to this answer ??
I already suspected Dutch might be the problem, but all of my WordPress is in Dutch.. My English is kind of OK, but it works a lot faster in your mother’s tongue…..
Now keep my fingers crossed hoping your support team is as fast as you were ??
Thanks again!
GerardI had the same problem, especially since all kinds of unwanted “members” tried to sign up for the site. It seems the “register” page cannot be removed, so I set a password on it with a text redirecting any problems to my email adress. No problens any more after that ??

In reply to: [WP Hide Post] No support – but they trick you into monthly payment.Jan,
In my opinion this is not in any way to be seen as name calling!
It is a warning for two things:
– the plugin is by a team of professionals considered to be a potential security risk due to no testing activity for new releases
– the plugin has an aggressive payment policy: quite different from the “normal” ways I know fro WordPressBut if you consider a double warning “name calling” be my guest…. But if you insist please at least publish the security risk: that’s even confirmed by WordPress library…
Kind regards,
Gerard CappersAaron,
I really liked this plugin, but my website hosting company had me shut it down, threatening to get my site off air. They say there has been no maintenance the last 2 years, so it’s considered a security risk. When I check the plugin’s WP status it says actually the same (in Dutch):
“Deze plugin is meer dan 2 jaar niet meer bijgewerkt. Mogelijk wordt het niet meer onderhouden of ondersteund. Ook kunnen er compatibiliteitsproblemen ontstaan wanneer het wordt gebruikt met recentere versies van WordPress.”
Translate: this plugin has not been updated for 2 years. It might be unsupported or maintenance stopped. There may be compatibility problems”What’s the story? Is the plugin so simple it does not need updates? Or is it really not supported anymore? That would be a pity: I’m missing it already! I’d even pay for the option, since there is nothing comparable in the market….
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Going back to classic editor is blocked!Marius, I can confirm that a complete removal of the plugin – at least for my site – did the trick: I can work again. I’ll stick to the old situation for now and wait for a stable release of WP5. Then maybe I’ll try again – and hope for more stability. And I’ll install the classic editor plugin to be prepared :-).

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Going back to classic editor is blocked! There is one solution available but that’s a really drastic one: remove Gutenberg completely. It looks like disabling is not really working: there still is a kind of connection. Getting rid of the plugin by deleting is does the trick.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] The latest Gutenberg update broke my siteSame here. Looked promising, but it seems unstable right now. Deactivated GB for now, thinking of deleting is completely….

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Blank page after the 3.9.0 versionSame over here. Things went OK, but this morning suddenly the publishing of a new post was leading to a blank page. I’m using 4.1.1 – which was reinstalled today!
Looking at the coding the page was far from empty, but it simply does not show.Workaround is creating and editing posts form the management console choosing the classic editor.
Very funny side effect: the Gutenberg page in the dashboard itself presents an empty page!
