Ah, ha! You didn’t understand me when a asked what happened to the TablePress toolbar when I uploaded to WP 3.9. You asked me to email you, but I can not find your email address in you directions. Can’t you just post it and save me some trouble? I found and captured an image of the toolbar in an old website I have that I hadn’t upgraded to WP 3.9. I’d like to send you the image so you can tell me how I can get it the toolbar back. The new WP table doo-hickey is cumbersome to work with.
Here’s a link to the image: https://coconutinternet.com/tablepress/
Thanks
Capt ConchI give up. I can’t find your email address and you don’t know what toolbar I’m talking about. End discussion.
Hi,
You asked “what the TablePress tool bar is for you.”
It is the former toolbar that used to be below the other formatting toolbars in wordpress when editing posts or pages. It had handy icons for adding and editing new and existing tables and icons for adding and deleting rows and columns.
I updated to the latest 1.4 version today and still no tool bar. There is a toolbar above everything that appeared with the WP 3.9 update, but it is cumbersome and time consuming to use. I think it’s from WordPress. Or maybe that is the new TablePress toolbar! If it is please bring back the icon driven toolbar.Hello,
The Table Press toolbar was obliterated when I updated to WP 3.9 this week. I uninstalled TablePress and then reinstalled and activated it, but the handy toolbar is still missing. TablePress is listed in the sidebar of the Dashboard menu. Also, extra space is placed above and below text i add to existing table rows and I’m not able to remove it in the code. It appears there’s now default padding assigned to the rows that wasn’t there before. I assume I’ll have to go to the CSS to remove it.
I want my old TablePress toolbar! Any suggestions?

In reply to: [ZenLite] Menu disappearedHi esmi,
Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it and will try to create a child theme.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Edit window tooo long 3.5Edit window too long is all better now that WP 3.5.1 has been issued to fix that annoying problem.

In reply to: Edit window tooo long 3.5Yes it does help. I’ll try your suggestions when my brain recovers in a few days and continuing my endless scroll in the meantime.
While I’ve got you, I have an unrelated request. In the insert media page of Zenlite could you add the file size in addition to the image size? My site is image intensive and size matters (as far as loading goes). A quick look at the file size will help me decide to use a thumbnail or a full size image.
Thank you

In reply to: Edit window tooo long 3.5I apologize for my seemingly chauvinist assumption, girl!
I created a new user and logged in as that, but the edit window was still way too long.
I mentioned that I use a very long table in my posts. The posts were fine until one day the edit window limited my attempts to resize it. It would allow resizing up to a point, but would snap back to the too long size.
I’m wondering if updating WP caused the problem. I know the update was at around the same time, but can’t remember exactly the sequence of events.
I have not, as yet, deleted the old user name and transferred posts then add my old user name back and transferred posts again as I’m not sure what that means or how to do it. I know how to delete a user name, but the bit about transferring posts confuses me.
I’m not too savvy on WP press yet. I’ve been using Microsoft Front Page for ten years and just recently bit the bullet and joined the modern world.
I’m getting brain drain from this problem and troubleshooting all my other gizmos that don’t work right. I don’t think technology is ready for the masses yet.

In reply to: Edit window tooo long 3.5The Edit window is still too long and I suspect it is because the post I use as a template is a very long table. I copy the text (I wish they’d go back to calling it HTML)to a new post daily and fill in the rows with jabber and images.
I’ve tried most of the other suggestions I’ve seen here with no luck so far.
I re-installed the updated version of the Zenlite theme the edit window is still way too long. (The designer didn’t like that I customized his very fine theme and I understand.)

In reply to: Edit window tooo long 3.5I’m afraid to try the default theme because I’ve customized zenlite so much it’s almost unrecognizable.
I’ve deleted any plugins not in use. I only have 5 and I could resize the edit window previously while these plugins were active. I don’t think they are the problem.
