I think I have figured out the problem. Crossing fingers! I noticed that when I moved my recent posts widget below my Facebook Like widget in my sidebar the strange white boxes disappeared. They came back when I switched things back. It was obviously a problem with my Facebook widget box. I went to Facebook and got new code for my widget. There is a source code that they want you to put near the head of your document and then the widget code. I just did as they said and the white box is gone. Everything is good again with my blog. If you are having the same problem as I am maybe look at your Facebook widget as the culprit.

Thanks for replying. I tried your suggestion and deactivated all of my plugins and then tried to activate them all again one by one. The only one that gave me a problem was my recent posts plugin or my special recent posts plugin. It was working fine for the past 2 months until this past week. I have attached some screen shots of some source code I was able to find. It looks to me like the thing that is giving me the box is something that is running Adobe Flash Player. If you read the source code it says something about “DOMeventlistener”. I don’t know much about HTML so it could be something that is usually there or it could be something that is contributing to the problem.

I don’t have the “share this” plugin on my blog and I am still having the problem. So far the only thing that has worked for me is to move my recent posts widget from my sidebar to my footer. If I leave it in my sidebar I get the strange box. If I move it to my footer it goes away. I hate having my recent posts listed in my footer so hopefully we can figure out something soon.

I am having the exact same problem. For me it has something to do with having the Recent Posts widget in my sidebar. If I take it away, the box goes away. If I put it back it comes back. It only does this in my sidebar. If I move it to my footer then I don’t get a box. There was a previous message about this and someone said it was due to the Simple Sharing plugin which I don’t have installed on my blog. Not sure what the problem is though but I would like to figure it out because I had having my recent posts listed at the bottom of my blog.

Does anyone have any other ideas what it could be? I would be grateful.

I have never had the “Share This” plugin installed on my blog and I am having the same problem. Whenever I use a plugin with its widget that puts a thumbnail in my sidebar the box pops up. When I take the widgets away, the box goes away. The plugins that were giving me a problem were Special Recent Posts and Moo Collapsing Archives. I tried installing other plugins so that I can have a recent post list on my blog and a nice archive but anything else I install does the same thing. I get another box.
I hope this is fixed soon!

Thanks for your help. I tried what you said and it looks like it was my Moos Collapsing Archives plug-in and my Special Recent Posts plug-in. Now I am off to find some alternatives. At least the glitch is gone now. Thanks again.

Ok. I had Simple Social Sharing installed and decativiting it did nothing. The boxes are still there. Does anyone have any other ideas? I would be grateful for your help.

I am having the same problem. It just started today. I am going to try to deactivate the share this plugin and see if that helps. Hopefully they get this glitch fixed soon.
