ok i think i know why im getting everyone confused lol.

when i logon i goto https://www.rydensbasketball.co.uk/login and use my mates logon details.

i pressume i am actually just logging into domain host area that lets me use wordpress ??

See I am used to using something like wix. I am used to building a website under a username or user area with the domain such as https://www.wix.com/nameofsite and then i would just buy a domain and link to this site so not actually need any hosting.

when i logon at https://www.rydensbasketball.co.uk/login i am logging onto the host area that has wordpress (or lets me use a wordpress dashboard, however it would be worded).

Ok so i am understanding the site i have made for my mate is under .org and i was looking to transfer over to my user area which is a .com wordpress site/user area.

Sorry when i say “word press area” what i mean is the dashboard etc where i can select themes edit pages add pages etc, effectively the building part of the site.

I am used to old school web building places where i have a user and logon and i build my site under my user details.

i think i may have worked out how to do it.

Would i create a new user (with my credentials)

set this new user to full admin

    Then delete the old user?

    that’s brilliant.

I don’t have a plan at present was asking to see if I would be able to do it.

I was hoping the hosting site i go to offers some kind of migration service that would tick the boxes i need them too.

Make a new Admin account of your own, then log in with those new credentials and delete the other user while re-assigning all posts and pages to your new account.

would i do this in his wordpress area or make a new word press area??

thanks guys for the replies again.

I think i am understanding what i need to do.

i am just confused with one thing.

I am going to be purchasing hosting from the same place https://www.rydensbasketball.co.uk is hosted, i am also going to be getting a new domain name to go with it.

My only confusion i still have is that when i go to edit current site on my friends wordpress area i log on with his wordpress username and password and make all changes there. If i migrate everything to a hosting site that i purchase with domain name and all the same themes etc when i log onto my wordpress area with my details will i be able to edit the site there that as now migrated to the new hosting area with domain name, or do i need to migrate everything from one wordpress user area to another wordpress user area and then link to hosting site and domain name after.

apologies if this has already been explained but i have not read correctly.

    thanks again for help.

    hi thanks for replies,

    maybe i havent explained properly.

I have made a wordpress website under one persons logon details through wordpress.

what i want to do is move everything i have made designed etc to my login area for wordpress.

so i want to be able to log on to my wordpress area and be able to design change etc etc the wordpress site i initially made under someone elses word press login details.

It is not a problem if it is removed from the initial persons wordpress logon area and does not exist under their login details anymore.

i hope this makes sense ??

    thanks again
